Post: [PS3] 3.55 CFW Question

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have a ps3 with 3.55 cfw and was wondering if the old method of modding most CODs remains the same. I haven't modded in a few years and wanted to play around with it again.

The old method used to be:

1 - extract the patch from ps3 onto a usb
2 - edit patch and recompile or something
3 - load onto the ps3 with 3.55 cfw
4 - create a back up of the ps3 with 3.55 cfw
5 - load this back up onto a ps3 with current ofw*
6 - done

As much info as possible on new methods would be great. The last thing i recall is people trying to get off of 3.55 and loads of people ended up bricking their ps3s lol.

If you have a 3.55 you can just data transfer to your OFW, I highly recomend updating from 3.55 to a higher firmware though (You must login or register to view this content.)

What's the benefits as opposed to the 3.55 cfw?

You can take it online when it is jailbroken so it removes the need for the ofw ps3
