Dual Account Authentication (Some New Year Security)

Dual Authentication

Dual Authentication, also known as 2-factor login, has been added to NextGenUpdate. This is a second login authentication on top of your current password for that added protection.

The current options are:
- Second Password
- Email Authentication Code (Doesn't support @nextgenupdate.com emails.)
- YubiKey

Email Authentication Code and YubiKey are OTP (One-Time Password) authentication systems that are very secure as they require a unique password each time, that is emailed to you (6-digit number) or generated from a YubiKey (More Info).
The second password is also secure as it is stored through a series of hashes and encryptions, SHA-512 -> MD5 -> AES (each is salted).

i have seen this site go down many times,from ddos dont feel butthurt because your thread is useless!

lol, the site gets hit by DoS and DDoS attacks every few days, but you never notice because the site stays up. Some are small (10-100 Mbps) and some are larger (1Gbps or more) but rarely do they take down the site or cause slowness. Additionally, denial of service attacks and hacking into accounts are two completely separate issues and dealt with in different ways.

I'm sorry that I respect one of the administrators who keeps this site running like it should, rather than shit talking him all day long for no reason. I do think he should be doing his job a bit better however - you're not banned yet.
