(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey NextGenUpdate! Here's a pretty good tutorial who have a O3DS or a N3DS in 10.4 or 10.5, it will teach you how to install menuHax to launch homebrew channel when you boot your 3DS, this is useful if you use HANS or something else.

If you are on other firmware released BEFORE 10.4, like 9.2, 10.3, etc, you may use this tutorial, but I don’t guarantee that this will work, and if you’re trying with an Old3DS on 10.1.0-27 or bellow, the browserHax will be a little different, just zoom the page and double tap de Slider on the page.

So let’s start. But before, a reminder: I’m not responsible for anyone, bricking their console, crashing their PC, etc. Follow these instructions at your own risk.

What we will need:

  • -N3DS or O3DS on 10.4.0-29 or 10.5.0-30
  • -Starter Kit for HBLauncher (You can get this here: You must login or register to view this content. go to “Preparing your SD card”)
  • An SD card on your O3DS or a microSD card on your N3DS with at least 200mb
  • -Patience if the browserHax doesn’t load.

1 – Grab your 3DS turn off and remove the SD Card, now find a way to connect to the PC.
1.1 – If you have a New3DS you can do this by network. You must login or register to view this content.

2 – Open up the starter. zip and extract all the files to the root of the SD Card. So the “boot.3dsx” needs to be on the root of the SD.

3 – Now stick back the SD Card on the 3DS.

4 – Turn on your 3DS

5 – Now click on the top icon in the left on the Touch Screen, it will open the Initial Menu settings, on this, you can select a Theme, just select any theme, apply it, then go back to the default theme. (This is not optional)

6 – While you’re at the Initial Menu press L+R to open the camera.

5 – Click this button to start the QR Reader

6 – Now scan this QR Code:

7 – Confirm to open You must login or register to view this content. then wait the flashing colors on your 3DS.

7.1 – If an error is show or it crashed/freeze just turn off the 3DS and try again.
7.2 – If it’s getting really hard, open the Settings of the 3DS browser and try Cleaning Cache, Cleaning History and we also have an option “Reset Save Date” try this.

8 – If everything is working you may now see this screen:

You must login or register to view this content.

9 – Search on the list for menuhax_manager v2.2 (2.2 was made to make 10.4 and 10.5 compatible) if for some reason you have the v2.1 download 2.2 – You must login or register to view this content.

10 – Once menuhax start you’ll see this screen(I know it’s from version 2.1, but it’s the same on 2.2):

You must login or register to view this content.

11 – If you select install, it will install MenuHax, now everytime you boot your 3DS holding the L button it will enter on HomeBrew Launcher instead going to the Home Menu.

12 – If you want to autoboot to HBLauncher, go on the third option in the menuhax_manager “Configure/check haxx trigger…”, select Type 1, then touch anywhere on the lower screen and it will configure. Now if you boot your 3DS without holding any button you will end up on HBLauncher. If you want to boot on Home Menu (SysNAND) hold L while booting.

Happy Homebrewing!
