I would wait on the GPU cause the 300 series is coming soon. You could also just torrent windows 8.1 and buy a key from g2a for like $30. (But you didn't here that from me )

upgrade the psu. 500w is small for a r9 290. i have a r9 280x and i use 600w. just a recommendation
