I've got a wired xbox controller that works with GTA IV For the pc but when i'm playing COD 4 how do i get it to work,

Do i need any programs or do i have to change settings, i already have the newest microsoft plugin for controllers,

If you got windows it should be a plug and play but your going to get destroyed online as mouse and keyboard is faster

Cod 4 does not support gamepads. However, you can use programs that map the controller buttons to the mouse and keyboard, like xpadder.

One does not simply use controller on PC FPS games.

This. You cannot play with controllers on PC period. I know it may seem hard headed, but a mouse and keyboard is much faster and controllers will only become a pain in the ass when you are trying to kill someone that can lock onto you much faster. It didn't take me very long to get rid of my dependancy on controllers (have been using them for 8+ years frankly) and switch to a mouse and keyboard for gaming. It's funny though, now whenever I go to play on a console it feels as if though I am now more accurate and have better reaction times even though I have stopped using controllers for ages.
