Dunno if you'd be interested in Deus Ex: HR, but I found that I quite enjoyed it and not many of my friends had played it. Red Faction: Armageddon was also very good.

Smite, DayZ/WarZ, dota2, LoL, world of tanks, diablo, civilization.

Try specifying some genres of games that you like. I'm assuming by "outside the box", you like a lot of indie games, so try browsing that section of Steam and see if anything catches your eye.

If you think of some genres you like, I'll recommend some of my more personal favorites for PC.
