when i try to connect to my PS3 with Filezilla. I'm doing everything guides say, Blackbox is open, i put the exact IP address that it says in, i tried FTPD12345 or whatever as user and any pass and ive tried with nothing

I am using the EXACT IP as the ps3 if getting internet on and i allowed filezilla through my firewall

Same here then i put it in settings as enter in passive mode, and for username leave blank and password i put abc and port 21 it worked for me. Hope it helps you.

It was in passive mode by default, still hasn't worked

just put the ip in and click quick connect thats what i always do and it works for me.

dont put a uname in at all i dont and i still connect just put ip in and port 21

I tried all the above and it hasn't worked. I Googled and looks like it has to do with my firewall. I tried turning off Windows altogether, didn't work and made an exception and still didn't work. I have Norton 2010 as antivirus, I turned that & windows off COMPLETELY and it didn't work...WTF

With filezilla ,use the v1.0 and 1.1.
He want to correct with 1.2 some problem of compatiblity for other ftp software and add other problem for filezilla .
I think he made the 1.0 for linux's user and 1.1 for Fz users .1.2 work well with FlashXp .

I thought the versions of blackbox were for different firmwares. i guess ill trying flashxp

Just tried Flashxp and SmartFTP, both get the permission error. Can ANYONE help me with that?

I had this same problem but as soon as I turned off my firewall it was ok.
If you have done this already I suggest checking if your antivirus is blocking the program.
