So ::InFeCtuS:: has released a modded chip that is suitable for all
consoles, but knowing this is the "PS3" section i will talk about ps3.
This modded chip is re-programable.
Hmmm maybe it can be programed to do the HDD decryption and dump it to an external drive by itself. Not to sure. but someone should really look into this. It could possibly be a very first intake into a So called jtagged ps3 system.

* The core of INFECTUS is the new ACTEL ProASIC3 FAMILY, belonging to a new generation after the famous APA075 used in the past in many PS2 projects.
* We used a 512Kb parallel flash SSTSF040, with a higher transfer rate and performance.
* Finally, we have got a REAL USB 2.0 processor. This high quality component can manage the communication between ACTEL and your PC (mini usb connector).
* every part of the chip PLD/FLASH/USB is 100% reprogrammable via USB. Not only DATA is updatable, but the complete SOURCE CODE is the only one in the market that can be programmed for every thing you want.

There is no "new" Infectus coming out anytime in the near future, it's not mentioned on PS3news, The Hax Network, or even the Infectus website. Besides, Infectus was patched sometime after firmwares 2.00+, and the only thing it actually did was allow you to downgrade if you already have a backup of the firmware you used to be on(it has to be yours, and done with Infectus)
