(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); OK, pretty simple once you think about it... If we can load our own /dev_flash/ via JaiCraBs CFW Loader, we can load a 3.42 firmware... But hold on! We can't jailbreak on 3.42! And? We do hacks/upload patch_mp.ff to our MW2 patch... Then run FW Loader with actual 3.42 firmware on USB, and play online with modded patch (HDD is untouched!)...

This will work, but I don't know whether or not we can use a 3.41 flash and just change etc/vsh/version.txt?

The issue is though, how do we get a /dev_flash/ copy from 3.42, we can't jailbreak... :-( This rules out the first option. So our only option is to try to change etc/vsh/version.txt.

I think many people will try this!

UPDATE: Some devices such as HTC Touch Hero now have PSGroove v1.1 ported with syscalls PEEK and POKE...

Please note: You cannot use PSFreedom, PSJailbreak, or any other clone, you need the PEEK and POKE syscalls which is only in PSGroove v1.1...

The method is to edit the npsignin_plugin.sprx file.

It is found in /dev_flash/vsh/module.

It's encrypted AND authed/signed, so SDK won't do you any good...

Just not possible yet, also with the the txt idea you can manage it but the difference in the firmware online will create problems

good God i know for a fact some people with 3.41 are on psn! there are methods just those people all cover it up! watch an exploit pop out the day black ops comes out lol

So I'm guessing my idea is out of the question? Just run 3.41 from usb then run the 3.50 update?

No its not... Besides you can run unsigned code you can see
the source in C:\users\Cell\samples\sdk\network
i think its in network.. But anyways if this was the way you could
compile your own sprx then run it unsigned...

I think you guys misunderstand me,
I am trying to modify the contents of npsignin_plugin.sprx in the FLASH.
Those files Hunter spoke about in the SDK, are for making a game play over PSN, which is NOT what I am looking for.

npsignin_plugin.rco controls the media (text/sound/images)
npsignin_plugin.sprx controls the actual commands/actions taken when signing in.

you cant update from jaicraBs firm loader as it will brick your console
