Don't Get Crushed
Coded by: ThatOtherDev
Complied by: EmersonS35

Just tilt your controller left or right to move the grey ball left or right and avoid the other balls as they bounce across the screen. If you get crushed under one of the bouncing balls then its game over and your score is reset to zero. Your high score is automatically saved to your hard drive.

MAZE GENERATOR v1.0
Coded by: ThatOtherDev
Compiled by: EmersonS35

Maze Generator randomly generates mazes. You play as a red circle and can navigate the mazes using the directional pad. A new maze is generated when you reach the red square at the end.
You can move the camera around freely using the analog sticks.

Neo Race v2.0
Coded by: ThatOtherDev
Compiled by: EmersonS35

I put together an updated version of Neo Race. It doesn’t have everything I wanted to get into it but I probably wont be working on PS3 stuff much until next month so I figured I would just post what I have done now.

There is some simple lighting now. You move a little faster. Some changes to the controls (the sixaxis steering has been left unchanged) have been made and there have been some other little things changed. There was going to be some old style full screen motion blur and zoom tied to your speed but it turned out being unusable slow on PS3 (which is odd considering how well it worked on my antiquated PC).

More importantly though I’ve added a track editor. Its far from done but it is incredibly easy to use so you can put together tracks very quickly and you can save whatever you make. You can only have one saved track at a time (there is no race track selection screen yet) but you can exit out of the editor and then play what you where working on without needing to save so you can play around with it without overwriting whatever you have saved.

If you want to get your saved track from of your PS3 (using a file manager or FTP client) and store it elsewhere or share it it’s the “track.txt” file located at “/dev_hdd0/game/NEOR66666/USRDIR/”. I would love to see anything you make.

I would really like to know what everyone would like to see done with the track editor. Are there any kinds of freely place able objects that you would like to have? Would you like to be able to control the width of the track? Do you like the way that each checkpoint in the track is automatically rotated (which makes it a lot less time consuming to lay out the track and have nice turns) or would you prefer to have control over their rotation? How do you feel about the buildings? Any input would be appreciated.

Neo Tanks v0.1
Coded By: ThatOtherDev
Compiled By: EmersonS35

Here is an update/remake of that tank thing I posted a few days ago. Now you can take control of a randomly selected tank but its still at this point in time primarily a glorified screensaver. The gameplay is mostly an afterthought.

I want to thank Themaister for pointing out what I was doing wrong yesterday with TGA loading and PuppetMaster for reposting my request for guidance on the psx-scene forum. As a result of your awesomeness I will never need to use those self made toif files ever again.

PS3 Controls:
Move – Left analog stick
Aim – Right analog stick
Shoot – R1

FBANext PS3 R424

squarepusher's modified version of Lantus360's FBANext (Final Burn Alpha) emulator for PS3.

FBANext emulates the:

-Capcom CPS-1 / CPS-2 / CPS-3
-Cave
-Neo Geo
-Sega System 16 (and similar systems), System 18, X-Board, Y-Board
-Toaplan
-Taito 68k
-Psikyo 68EC020/SH2
-PGM
-Konami
-Sega Megadrive roms (savestates are not supported)

Copy roms to /FBANext-ROMS/ on a USB drive.

FBANext PS3 R424 CHANGELOG

-(PS3) Added waterpaint-normalcontrast.cg, waterpaint-normalcontrast-scanline.cg, waterpaint-highcontrast.cg, waterpaint-highcontrast-scanline.cg shaders
-(PS3) Optimized crt.cg shader - now runs at 60fps (fullspeed) at 1080p (1920x1080). Also added crt-highgamma.cg.
-(PS3) Texture references used - far faster graphics code as a result. Also adapted refreshwithalpha so that it looks the same as it did before without texture references.
-(PS3) Added all the shaders added inbetween r423 and the custom versions
-(PS3) Replaced inlineASM in burnint.h with intrinsic so that it can be compiled with SNC. Also commented out little endian functions in blargg_endian.h to get SNC to work
-(PS3) Commented out all exceptions and try - catch blocks in files such as ticpp.cpp and others - SNC by default works with exception support disabled - also exceptions have performance overhead - commenting out the exceptions and the try-catch blocks for both GCC and SNC increased performance.
-(PS3) Got rid of virtual function call overhead in classes that inherited from a base class with virtual function definitions - such as the Cellframework Audio driver, and FBA's aud_audio.h itself. Led to measurable performance increases and lag reduction.
-(PS3) Better button responsiveness - in PS3/run.cpp, for some reason button input was only being registered one out of every three frames - commented that out. There were tons of other branches in the interface code that are unnecessary - checking for bDrivOkay for instance in video_interface and vid_psgl - that were commented out for PS3. This could similary be applied to FBA 360 for some performance gains - same with the elimination of virtual function call overhead.
-(PS3) Menu scrolling with the D-pad/analog stick in the ROM browser/settings menu/ingame menu by pressing and holding directional keys.
-(PS3) Shaders now receive three additional input params for the main vertex program (main_vertex). This allows us to offload some more calculations from the fragment shader which leads to increased performance.
-(PS3) Added back ability to go to Service menu by pressing R3 button.
-(Core) - Rygar driver colors are restored again to normal colors - during the update to FBA beta, a swapword tement was left out.
-(PS3) Makefile works now for either SNC or GCC. Change CELL_BUILD_TOOLS to set either of the two. The best speed I currently get with GCC for some odd reason.
-(PS3) Makefile and preprocessor statements in the code now let you compile the source and have it detect your SDK version automatically.
-(PS3) There is a special debug mode you can activate (CELL_DEBUG_CONSOLE = 1) where a Telnet server will be running in the background which you can telnet into - in this mode, you can track variables and/or dump screenshots on the HDD.
-(PS3) Better speed, far less lag as a result of all of the above. PS. Every change above only affects the PS3 version.

3.56 Version Spoofer does exactly what it says and can restore back to 3.55 if needed. It was never intended to allow PSN access but to stop the system from updating to 3.56 (I made it shortly after KaKaRoToKS had his false alarm).

Once the PS3 is spoofed it will stay spoofed until it is uninstalled.

xReg Plus v1.0

Cyberskunk's xReg Plus lets you reactivate legally purchased and owned PSN content after a service mode install.

INSTRUCTIONS:
DISCLAMER: This software can be used to enable LEGALLY obtained DLC (downloaded content) if your console has become deactivated. It contains NO ‘Official SCE’ code and was made using open source SDK psl1ght. The responsibility IS on the end-user to use this software in accordance with his/her own country’s/region’s copyright laws.

xReg Plus is a simple app that will allow you to backup and restore your xRegistry.sys file to/from USB. Good for instantly restoring your settings and access to your save data again after a Service Mode install.

1. Press SELECT to BACKUP xRegistry.sys to root of USB000
2. Press START to RESTORE xRegistry.sys from root of USB000

Also includes Activation Reviver.

You must have a backup of your act.dat file and the exdata folder must already exist in dev_hdd0/home/00000001/ (Currently that is the only address it copies to).

How it works..

1. Place act.dat onto root of USB stick and place in USB000 (slot furthest right)
2. Press CIRCLE to TRANSFER act.dat to xReg Plus (XREG00001/USRDIR) from USB
3. Press CROSS to RESTORE act.dat to PS3 exdata directory

Once this is done you only have to use step 3 each time you reboot and want to play DLC.

Homebrew PKG Repository

The (PS3) Homebrew PKG Repository by kmeaw. Download and install homebrew from the PS3 itself over an HTTP connection. This is considered a work-in-progress.

Homebrew PKG Repository (HPR) is currently a WIP but runs on a PS3 with a built-in PKG installer, basically, it is a very simple embedded Web browser that can install PKGs.

It uses HTTP to download PKG files and supports a small subset of HTML, as the builtin PS3 browser is much better than this one in displaying HTML but it cannot install PKGs although a complex markup for package descriptions isn't necessary.

Wipe History v2.0

smokin's homebrew app, Wipe History, clears your game history and pushlist - hopefully before that data is sent to Sony (when your PS3 is connected to the Internet).

This is my first ps3 homebrew app, it clears your history (ie.,boot_history.dat) so sony doesnt know what games or homebrew you have ran.

Most homebrew apps in .pkg form use an id which goes to a file that gets uploaded to sony when you sign into psn, obviously homebrew apps have their own id that sony doesn't recognize which could potentially get you banned.

This app clears that history so just run it after you run homebrew, It will do ALL accounts on your ps3.

When you run it the screen will go black then return you to the xmb.

UPDATE: Get version 2 it deletes pushlist too which is also sent to sony The files are in dev_hdd0/vsh/pushlist/patch.dat and game.dat

Package Manager 0.9

Package Manager is a replacement for the standard ★ Install Package Files option under ‘Game’ in the XMB and allows for the install and deletion of .pkg files from ‘dev_hdd0/packages’, ‘dev_usb/packages’ and the standard ★ Install Package Files locations. In addition to this, your downloaded PSN content will appear under this menu instead of cluttering your ‘Game’ menu with uninstalled content.

INSTALLATION:
1: Download the ‘Package Manager 0.9 – Installer’ package and install it on your PS3.
2: Run ‘Package Manager 0.9 – Installer’ and choose your option. (Rebug and OFW/CFW have slightly different icons in their RCO’s. THIS IS THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO OPTIONS BELOW)

For Official Icon Set:
Press CROSS to INSTALL Package Manager 0.9
Press CIRCLE to UNINSTALL Package Manager 0.9

For Rebug Icon Set:
Press SQUARE to INSTALL Package Manager 0.9
Press TRIANGLE to UNINSTALL Package Manager 0.9

The ‘dev_hdd0/packages’ folder is created automaticly when you choose one of the above install options but if you delete it you can use the below option to create it again.

Package Folder Creation:
Press START to CREATE the ‘dev_hdd0/packages’ folder

NOTE: ‘Package Manager 0.9 – Installer’ can be uninstalled once you have installed Package Manager.

OPTIONS:
Navigate to ‘Game’ in your XMB and click on ★ Package Manager (It will be where ★ Install Package Files used to be). You will find three options.

★ PlayStation®Network Content
Manage your downloaded PlayStation®Network Content.

★ Install Package Files
INSTALL package files from Storage Devices and your PS3.

PS3™ Hard Disk – (dev_hdd0/packages)
Package Folder – (dev_usb/packages)
Standard Package Location – (Standard ★ Install Package Files locations)

NOTE: The ‘Install All Packages’ is only available by pressing the TRIANGLE button when the ‘Standard Package Location’ option is highlighted because the PS3 will only install ALL packages from the root of a storage device as of the moment.

★ Delete Package Files
DELETE package files from Storage Devices and your PS3.

PS3™ Hard Disk – (dev_hdd0/packages)
Package Folder – (dev_usb/packages)
Standard Package Location – (Standard ★ Install Package Files locations)

DELETING FILES:
1: Highlight the file you would like to delete and press TRIANGLE. The sidebar should appear.
2: Press CROSS on either Unlink or Unlink(Folder) (Both do the same thing for now).

NOTE: Any files that you have Unlinked WON’T disappear from the XMB until you exit the directory!!

TODO: The delete feature while 100% working still needs a little work on the appearance (icons need fixing etc..) and maybe have a look at implimenting a Storage Device<->PS3 copy feature.

Erase Me v1.1

The app was used to hide traces of any homebrew that had been played on your system, prior to going on PSN. Today, another dev, Chossy, has taken things a step further, by releasing EraseMe v1.1. This app accomplishes the same thing as Wipe History, it erases your "previously played" log. However, the dev, Chossy, felt that sending an empty log to Sony, was just as suspicious as sending one filled with homebrew. So in addition to erasing your log, his app also generates a new one, filled with fake games played. It is recommended, that you modify the source code of the program, as to generate a unique list of games played.

After making this app for ****ee7730 i got to thinking that a blank pushlist is just as bad as one full of homebrew so i quickly edited v1.0 to allow the copying of dummy files as well.

So i have included in this version a game.dat/patch.dat/boot_history.dat with 5 genuine games played that can be copied over instead of deleting the pushlist/history.

If you really want some fun after install FTP into the app BLES00132
and hex in some swear words in the game.dat/patch.dat & boot_history.dat
in the USRDIR folder then copy them across

Cross will delete all files.
Circle will copy dummy files.

SRC Code Included.

(Stealthed as Fifa 08 v1.10)

Clean your pushlist/history files from your ps3 for people who dont use backup managers.

Install package and run.
Press X to delete files and exit.
Press O to copy dummy files over.

Dummy files show 5 games played so not to look to obvious.
If you really want some fun after install FTP into the app BLES00132

also included is a stealth version of blackbox ftp (using Genji ID)

No callback function added as yet so cant exit to xmb via ps button.
This will be fixed in next version.

By default, the games are added to your log:
BCES00002: Genji: Days of the Blade
BLES00187: Turok
BCUS98107: Resistance - Fall of Man
BLES00323: Mercenaries 2 World in Flames
BCES00006: MotorStorm

... But to avoid having the whole world have the same games in their log (which ultimately would be as suspicious as a blank list) source files are provided in the archive (and we strongly advise you to use to insert your own list of games).

PS3MFW Builder v0.1
================================================== ============

INTRODUCTION
For years, the security system of PS3 remained unbreached because Sony had a
very good defense mechanism: Consumers could use it for more than just gaming
by installing Linux via the “Other OS” feature. Therefore there was little
motivation for security researchers to investigate the PS3. However, then Sony
(or SCE, SCEA, SCEE or whatever, we aren’t exactly sure what is going on there
anymore) made an unprecedented move: Not only did they introduce a new PS3
model that no longer allowed the installation of an Other OS, but with a
firmware “upgrade” they removed it from previously sold consoles.
While removing advertised features from a product (several years after its
purchase!) is blatantly unlawful, having highly paid lawyers apparently allows
you to get away with it- in a legal sense.
But when the law fails to protect the people, then some of those people, being
clever and resourceful, help themselves. And that is what happened here. Sony
sunk its own battleship.
PS3MFW is the next step in the process of returning to consumers control over
their own hardware. Your PS3 belongs to you. You didn’t lease it, and you
signed no contract when you purchased it. It is your right to use it however
you choose. It is your responsibility to do so within the legal boundaries.
PS3MFW allows you to tailor your PS3′s firmware to your specific needs, giving
you a level of control you previously lacked. PS3MFW is open source. That
means it is completely transparent, and anyone with the necessary programming
knowledge can help to improve it and create new plugin tasks.
It is with great pleasure and joy that we are now able to present you with the
first public release of PS3MFW Builder. A lot of hard work went into this
during the past five weeks, by some incredibly dedicated and inspired people.
We would like to thank everyone who contributed, the people who got this
project underway, and those who did all the programming and testing.
PS3MFW Builder v0.1 has been successfully tested on all major PS3 hardware
revisions, and in conjunction with OFW 3.10 – 3.55. It is NOT compatible with
OFW 3.56.
Remember that this is only the very first release of PS3MFW Builder, version
0.1. With your support and feedback, we intend to create the definitive PS3
firmware solution that makes all other closed-source custom firmwares obsolete.
PS3MFW Builder is not distributed with any program code copyrighted by third
parties.
PS.
KevinButler, you sunk your own battleship.

Mad props to fail0verflow

With the release of this new simple tool by Geohot which is only handy to those that understand it's full usage, it will not be long before you see developers making usage of it to rip apart the official Sony update files, and once fail0verflow releases their promised tools, it will just be matter of time before we start seeing new neat custom PUP files re-assembled that are officially signed to install on stock PS3 consoles, bringing new features to those users that Sony never offered to them in standard updates!

Thanks for the 100 PM's and the 5 member news threads on this subject, I know I know, but it is on the front page now for everyone to enjoy reading, people do need to sleep sometimes!

UPDATE: Added the original "pastie" source code, thanks to EurAsia and attached a solid stable PUP extractor program, and many thanks to XVortex for uploading the Win32 port of dePKG!

UPDATE #2: Added two more tools, an improved windows version of dePKG and dissect_coreos thanks to a valued PSX-SCENE member cory1942 for sharing them with us!

Drag and drop your decrypted CORE_OS_PACKAGE onto the exe and it will extract the binaries inside (keep in mind most everything inside it is crypted, it contains the lv1/lv2 selfs and some spu modules and the like.) There shouldn't be anything in there that would prevent a very fast port to *nix (and many thanks go to graf_chokolo for partially documenting the structure on his hv reversing page at lan.st wiki.)

Also did a msys build of the depkg for windows which doesn't rely on external code, source included along with all the COPY notices that go with the aes implementation I used (also I'm running it on win7 x64 from the command line without issue, though it is a 32bit targeted build.)

CFWs

Rebug Acid-CFW 3.41
TeaM-ACiD1C has just dropped Acid 3.41.010, which you may or may not know is a “customized firmware” for the PS3. Customized how? No custom sprx’s (read: plugins) yet — but you will notice firmware debug options enabled, an added XMB category called “Haxx” next to “Game” and other cosmetic differences. Read on for the full list.
Acid-CFW for PS3

We currently have two means of installing and using Acid CFW:
1. You must login or register to view this content.
(soft-mod install; the safer solution)
2. You must login or register to view this content. a.k.a. Mount Alejandro
(permanent install; use at your own risk)
Follow You must login or register to view this content. to get up and running.

Acid-CFW 3.41.010 Changes

-New Haxx Category next to game
-Check option for all games, PS3saves and gamedata (greyed out – Not working yet)
-Quick sign Up in Haxx
-Titlestore preview in Haxx
-Titlestore preview (in game) in Haxx
-Install Packages in Haxx
-App/home in Game and Haxx
-Performance Bar
-No memory limit
-Quick preview
-Clear Cache
-Owner Information for gamedata
-Various Icon and text mods – POC
-SaveData Ps1/2 shows up in JB mode
-Custom firmware version in System info
-Some other cosmetic differences

Update: Care to enable some extra debug options (visible when pressing triangle on browser icon) for the PS3 web browser? Now you can by following this tutorial:

-You will need stokers PS3 Registry Editor and an app (like PS3 FTP Server or Filemanager) to dump the xreg file.
-Dump xregistry.sys file to your PC, located in /dev_flash2/etc/ (keep a backup as you never know in the future when you might need it).
-Open xregistry.sys with PS3 Registry Editor.
1. Scroll down to /setting/browser/debugMenu entry (~ half way down).
2. Change the value from 00000000 to 00000001.
3. Click save below value.
4. Then click file at the top of the editor window and click save again. Now load xregistry.sys back onto your PS3 in /dev_flash2/etc/
-There is also a backup stored inside the backup folder, so don’t worry too much about doing any damage.
-Now reboot your PS3 to see changes. Simple!

WE DO NOT OFFER ANY GUARANTEE WHEN MESSING WITH PS3 FLASH. USE ACID-CFW AT YOUR OWN RISK. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE IF YOU DAMAGE YOUR PS3.

FBANext PS3 R424

squarepusher's modified version of Lantus360's FBANext (Final Burn Alpha) emulator for PS3.

FBANext emulates the:

* Capcom CPS-1 / CPS-2 / CPS-3
* Cave
* Neo Geo
* Sega System 16 (and similar systems), System 18, X-Board, Y-Board
* Toaplan
* Taito 68k
* Psikyo 68EC020/SH2
* PGM
* Konami
* Sega Megadrive roms (savestates are not supported)

PS3MFW Builder v0.1
==============================================================
