Let me start by say, I wish i had done my research thoroughly before embarking on trying to restore my ps3 to a state of it being able to play ps2 discs and dvd's. It used to play PS3 discs and DVDs, but stopped all of a sudden, i guess it was caused by firmware update. Stupidly, i thought backing the ps3 up and formating it will restore the system to like it was when i first bought it... that is; with the first firmware it came with. its a PS3 60 GIG console.... I got a 32 gb Kingston flash drive ( Biggest Mistake Ever) formatted it on my laptop to FAT 32. backed up the ps3 using backup utility. and just went ahead to format. when i tried to restore from the flash, it gets to 99% and the give me this silly error code: and then leaving the HDD corrupted. i was soo furious and began making researches and found out it might be a bad Flash drive, i checked the size of the backup file and it was at 5.4 gig, so i copied all files from my wifes Nokia N95 8gig to laptop then tried backing up a formated ps3, it backed up and restored perfectly... so it meant that the Freaking Flash Drive from Kingston 32 Gb is a total Floop...
Now my Question to anyone who can help out there is this.... The backed up file 5.4gig on the kingston flash... can it be salvaged ? i know it must be corrupted is there some special software or way to salvage it.. any contribution or help will be greatly Appreciated...
Thanks Ya'll
