this tutorial will show you how to assign your CFW PS3 to your PSN account, so you can share save data between your 2 PS3s (one CFW and one OFW), without using Xploder.


first, you need these 3 program:
1) xRegistry.sys Editor v0.75 - download here: You must login or register to view this content.
2) any of Hex Editor
3) any of FTP program

let's begin

1. use FTP to transfer a file name xRegistry.sys from your CFW PS3 to your PC (locate at /dev_flash2/etc/)

2. use HexEditor program to open a file named PARAM.SFO from any of your save data from your OFW PS3, go to offset 140 you'll see your PSN account serial in a 16 digits format, copy that 16 digits and paste it somewhere (notepad or something)

3. open xRegistry.sys with the xRegistry editor (I recommend you to backup the file before you edit it)

4. now you have to edit the following fields:

/setting/user/(account number)/npaccount/accountid === add your 16 digits PSN account serial here
/setting/user/(account number)/npaccount/loginid === your PSN email here
/setting/user/(account number)/npaccount/password === your PSN password here
/setting/user/(account number)/ytaccount/password === your PSN password here
/setting/user/(account number)/net/onlineFlag === if this value is 00000000, change it to 00000001

5. save the file and FTP it back to your CFW PS3



now you suppose to be able to share your save data (that locked to PSN ID) between the 2 PS3s like they're the same machine.

you can hack the game with cheat PKG or other solutions on CFW PS3 and then transfer the save to OFW PS3 and continue collecting trophies with hacked saves.

Does this work on UK ps3's?

how is this useful? just mod the game and data transfer as usual?

like I said in the first post, some save data has been locked to your PSN ID, so the save data from your CFW (offline) PS3 will not be able to transfer to your OFW PS3 (except if you have xploder).

for the example, FFXIII save data, with this method you'll be able to cheat the game on CFW, save it and then transfer it to OFW.

by the way, if you have xploder you'll not need this method

How do i make other people's saves mine? I have done all this, now what?

use hex editor to edit PARAM.SFO from other people's save. replace his 16 digits PSN serial with yours (there's 2 places you need to replace, one at offset 140 and the other one at offset 588 )

another offset that you need to edit is offset 574, this is a console ID in 16 digits format. you need to copy your console ID from your PARAM.SFO (same offset) and paste it here.

transfer it to CFW PS3 (some game doesn't allow you to copy edited save from USB.. so use FTP)

then play the game with this save and overwrite it (or save to a new file) with your CFW PS3, the save will become 100% yours and will be able to transfer to OFW PS3 with a USB device.
