You can try buying a ps3 blu ray drive from eBay/Craigslist or somethin..

around my crib its a repair shop for ps3/Xbox so google and you might find one.

BUT If it's not reading disc then your lens might just be dirty. Try cleaning it before wasting money for something you can do yourself with the help of a youtube video

Which case it a simple matter of buying a new blue ray drive which fits into your PS3.

I think it around $40 for that.
Certain shops it real cheap but others not so much it also depends where you live.

Most indie shops which sell electric items should repair but it depends on the shop how much.

put your ps3 in factory mode and click restore file system if it says the hard disc's file system is corrupted then theres your problem just get a new hdd

You could try rebuilding data base in recovery menu, it might work, just try it :/

Yeah just replace your blu ray drive

order dual lense and replace takes twice as long to burn out

I actually had this problem with my slim and I found out all I had to do was reformat as it was a software issue that arose over time. Another solution is to clean the lense. If those two methods do not work then you can buy a blu-ray drive off of ebay and do it yourself.
