Post: PS3 Connection issues, I cant be the only one with this problem????

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I will give 6 Million vbuks to the person who can get my ps3 to work properly with my router!!!

Ok this is my problem

I can play my ps3 just fine when its wired directly to my modem, no lag, no disconections and I can host lobbies in any game I own.

Now with my router connected I get major issues like random disconnects, I can not host for the life of me ect.....

I have nat type 2 and an open nat in black ops and mw2 with and without the router connected

I have tried a static ip and putting the router on the dmz aswell as manually opening every possible port.

I have also tried multiple dns settings with no avail

I have disabled the routers firewall

What can I do, this is pissing me off soooo much and the other people in my house get pretty pissed to when they cant use the net because I want to play black ops lol.

Please is there someone who can fix this?

To add some more info my router is a Belkin F5D8236-4 v3

PSN and all the sony sites are having problems, it's not your network or internet at all. It's down for just about everyone at some point in time in the last 24 hours.

Its been happening to me for 2 years, I just realized this was an issue 2 weeks ago when I got my own lobby using a lag switch and no one ever joined untill I disconnected my router.

I also have not been able to have anyone join any gt5 lobby I made since I bought it in December.

I have always had issues connecting with friends and getting disconnected from lobby's

This is something to do with the ps3 and router, my ports open just fine on my computer

I have also gone on the ps3 browser to canyouseeme.org when connected to the psn and I checked all the ports that should be open when connected to the psn and all come back as connection refused.

Should the port tester not be able to see the ports used by the psn on an open nat 2 connection?

Also I am using a wired connection, not wireless

ok good news belkins are easy bad news is that shaw i am not familiar with however if you can get your computer to work we can assume it is not your service provider. Have you tried the basics i.e turn everything off including your modem that the router is plugged into. then turn on your belkin first then the modem. Not the other way around as i have found that the belkin finds it hard to find your modem but some modems find it the opposite way around!! so do one first then the other.

If you lose contact with it during setup (I had some trial and error moments, but the setup utility and manual made sense, even when I wasn't) and need to hard reset it, you have to run the configuration utility before it talks to you again. This seems pretty standard.

Try the hard reset because i had some mad moments with mine where i even rang my provider (at£1 per min) to try to help eventually after a while i got it to work although as stated i hard reset it (use a paper clip) and since then i have had no problems.

Hope all goes well for you

I have done a hard reset a couple times and setup everything from scratch with no success.

I will try starting the router first, I havent done that

Ok so I just unplugged the modem and router

Plugged in the router and let it fully boot up

Plugged in the modem

Fired up ps3

Got my own lobby

No one connecting to me

Still nat 2 and nat type open
