As an owner of All three consoles, Wii, Xbox360, and PS3, I was just wondering how many people will go back, consider... or defect to Xbox360. As an objective observer, I have seen the benefits of paying for a dedicated online server, and have, and will continue to support quality games developers by purchasing their games/downloadable content. What I find intriguing about the ps3 is the ability to modify, and personalise the console, and if these things become obsolete due to sony's innability to support or even turn a blind eye to homebrew developers, then I for one will be returning to old faithfull (Xbox360).

I highly doubt many (if any) ps3 owners will abandon ship to Xbox 360 over the PSN being patched/rebuilt. In fact, for all we know new updates to the network could be implemented as we speak (e.g. cross game chat). At this point, no one knows what Sony is doing or going to do. Until we know something, I don't see anyone jumping ship as of yet. Plus it is just going to be pathetic if people leave a free network because they are not allowed to use/play pirated material.

I have no reason to leave the ps3. i have full control over my system without hardware modification. I also have a xbox already. Sony can do what they wish, but I am going to be right there snooping around .

What I'm getting at is that I bought a ps3 because it was hacked, Without that challenge of making things work that aren't supposed to work, the novelty will probably wear out for me and I'll be back on my Xbox. Hey, Each to their own, It's just a hypothetical. Free PSN is great, but the entire time PSN has been down I've been xboxing it up, along with numerous others due to the free Xbox live weekend
