Default PSN breach could cost SONY "24 BILLION"

Well looks like the ANON team a.k.a(CYBERPLATOONS) were not lying when they said on their last STATEMENT that they
were going to release their BIGGEST attack ever and it looks like they accomplished it on SONY as we ALL know, and
these next paragraphs dont lie about what they really meant by BIGGEST attack.

PlayStation Network Breach Could Cost Sony $24 BillionPosted April 27, 2011 by James Brightman

PlayStation Network could ultimately cost Sony a massive amount of money. PS3 initially cost Sony an extraordinary amount to R&D and manufacture, but this PSN crisis is potentially far worse financially.

According to the Ponemon Institute, a data-security research firm, the estimated cost of a data breach involving a malicious or criminal act averaged $318 per compromised record in 2010 (that's up 48% from 2009). Factoring in about 77 million PSN accounts, the grand total of the PlayStation Network breach could be more than $24 billion.

"Simply put, [this is] one of the worst breaches we've seen in several years," added Josh Shaul, chief technology officer for Application Security Inc., a New York-based company that is one of the country's largest database security software makers.

MY COMMNENT: i hope that sony now understands of how easy it is for hackers to infiltrate their supposely super secure infastructure SERVER of the super wealthy company that SONY is, don't get me wrong they are "wealthy" but they are not smart enough to hold such power as we all know, in consequence of their incompetence from GREEDNESS and AMBITION we all became vulnerable in their weak SECURTIY. once again they tought that they were the only ones with POWER but no knowledge. and last we all know now what ANON meant on their STATEMENT TO SONY here's their quote "You brought this upon yourself. Let us teach you a lesson you'll never forget”

a few things, imo that 24 billion dollar thing is grossly exaggerated as it should not cost Sony 300 dollars for each hacked account. Its just a way to for someone to get his opinion on to the internet. 24 billion dollars for a free service? come on get real. Unless all credit card info from everyone is stolen, the cost will not be nearly that high.

"Let us teach you a lesson you'll never forget”? What assholes. I hope Prison teaches them a lesson they'll never forget. The fact Anon is trying to trying distance themselves from this attack shows they don't want any part of it.

There is a huge difference between crying over Geo and other hackers being sued (and this attack could show Sony were were justified in their fears) and taking down the network and stealing a countless number of personal info (as not every PS3 user will have real details stored).

    --

I can't see this costing anywhere near 24 billion though. My card details are changed so no worries there, plus I have like 6 PSN accounts anyway (different regions, different uses) so so the real number of individual people hurt by this will be significantly lower than what is being estimated.

I'm not mad, it's just the arrogance of it. Hackers don't like Sony going after peoples personal details as part of their lawsuit, so Hackers decide to retaliate by going after peoples personal details.

It's the pot calling the kettle black.

BTW, I already have an Xbrick 360 and it's shit. Had one for a while.

    I will quote back.

I say you deserved distruption, You wanted something and wouldnt go out and get it Doing a protest out a shop wouldnt do it, So you left it to the actual hackers to go do it.
