XLINK KAI FAQ

Hey guys, thought I'd make a quick F.A.Q for Xlink Kai assuming your new to it and if you can't figure out some issues with it.

Please click on the next page for the F.A.Q

[multipage=F.A.Q ]
FAQ:

1. Are Microphones useable on Multi-Player Lan games?

Yes.

2. Are Microphones useable on Zombies?

No.

3. Do you need to have a modem and a router to setup Xlink Kai?

No, your only need your PS3 and PC on the same network, but be sure it's Wired.

4. Do you get excessive lag when playing on Xlink Kai?

You do not, unless you have more then 8-9 Players in your game, but it's mainly dependent upon your internet upload speed (Recommended player amount is 6).

5. Are cars a viable source of green transport?

Indeed they are, as long as you have a Prius! Wait.. That's not even part of the FAQ! >.<

6. Why is my version of Xlink Kai different from tutorials on the web?

Simple, if you've downloaded it from the web it's a different version and uses your internet browser for connection, just download this version: You must login or register to view this content.

7. Do I need the same details as my Playstation Account for Xlink Kai?

No, you do not.

8. Why is Xlink Kai saying my PS3 isn't configured correctly?

You must be sure that your PS3 is connected to your Router and is not set on Wireless connection, and all the settings are on Automatic.

9. Why can't I see games on the list (Call of Duty LAN)

Perhaps you haven't joined a lobby yet, if you believe you haven't, just choose Playstation 3, Followed by First Person Shooter then the Call of Duty game you want (And if required a country) then join a lobby and you should see games on your Call of Duty Lan list.

10. Can you also connect to Xlink Kai through Wireless?

You can, but the issue is you'd be lagging alot as wireless is very unstable on Xlink, and it's a hard procedure, so just use Wired.

11. Is there a video tutorial for easy understanding of installation?

Indeed there is! take a look at this thread You must login or register to view this content.

12. Can you play through Playstation Network using this?

No, you cannot, as this connects you to emulated Lan servers.

13. Can I join friends that I have on PSN using this?

No, you can't, but you can join them through Xlink assuming you have them added on your friends list.

14. Can people access my computer through this?

No, they can't, as your only joining them on their connection.

15. Do I have to have a modded PS3 to use this?

Nope, all that's required is that you have your PC and PS3 wired on the same network.

And that concludes the F.A.Q.

Hopefully this brings more understanding into Xlink Kai and how to use and set it up.

Thanks for reading!

I really am not sure whether you can, I mean you might be able to considering it does emulate a fake Lan network, but I'm not sure whether Xlink has some special preset servers for specific games.

You may be able to, but you'd probably lag alot, have a look on the website of Xlink Kai and check out the setups.
