Post: TuT How to Take apart PS3 w/ Images

In this tutorial i have already done everything and was just giving you the images with the casing on (Not srewed in thats why my plugs are plugged in)

Thing you will need:

Small Flat Head Screw Driver (For the Hex Screws or use a Hex Screw driver or w/e they are called the star screws :p)

Medium/Small Philips head Screw Driver (For Philip head screws you can use the Flat Head Screw Driver if it fits)

1. Unscrew the Cover Screw (Red)

2. Slide the cover off to show the main casing

3. Unscrew all the screw (Green)

4. Look at the pretty colors :3 (You can plug the plug in and turn it on now)

We already got a few guides already mate. I even have videos of all 3 model PS3's (40 and 80GB, and the slim) in my guide. Good job though with the layout. I really like it Smile

Nice thread but why would you want to play with the cover off? That just gives people a REALLY huge chance to "accidentally" spill stuff in it.

I am assuming his attempt at this guide was to show how to begin the disassembly process of a PS3.

Well, then why did he put, "(You can plug the plug in and turn it on now)" in step 4? You'll just severely injure yourself taking apart a PS3 while its on.

Not true at all. I have the entire top off when I repair blu-ray lasers. I even keep the top off until I know the laser mech has been successfully repaired/replaced and has passed the tests. Only after I test it out do I put the top cover on. Same with PSU, fans, etc.
