Uncharted 3 Beta Review

Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception, one of the highly anticipated games coming up this year featuring treasure hunter, isn't out until November but Naughty Dog has released a beta last week that will extend to July 13-14. Uncharted 3's multiplayer adds a lot more depth and changes.

Power Plays:

In the previous Uncharted game, I stopped playing after a very short time because I would lose a lot. However, Uncharted 3 breaks that trend and gives players big chances of coming back to win in the fight. Power plays are one minute features that start pop up if you are losing by say.. 5 or 10 kills. They give you a small advantage like seeing enemies through walls, hunt the vip, and cursed to see everyone as a skeleton. Most of these powerplays gives you 2x-3x points and helps you come back into the game big time. It's a cool feature that balances out the multiplayer really well. Music stars to pop up as soon as the powerplay starts and it keeps me in the mood and I actually do a bit better with it xD

Emblems:

I love how they added emlembs into the game, integrating it with the buddy system. The thing I don't like is how it's so limited. You onlu get around 4 layers to mess with and can't do really a whole lot, but each one has pretty decent presets. I really like how your emblem gets displayed into the games for the winning team like up on the towers, roofs, garage, etc. I really hope they expand this tool in the final game because right now, it stinks.

Cinematic Fun:

Wow the game play amazed me so many times. Naughty Dog has invented cinematic multiplayer. Once you start the airstrip map, you are either on the villians side where you are on one of the trucks chasing a cargo plane, or the heros side where you start off in the cargo plane Smile Everything in that scene is just fast paced.. Jumping from one truck to another, trying to get into the plane, trying to fight off people from getting into the plane from the sides and front, everything is just spectacular. After 2 minutes into the scene, the cargo plane departs and you actually get into the map and continue your TDM game. You also get cabins blowing up, random airplanes flying through the map shooting anywhere, just that great cinematic feel. It's almost the same in the Cheateu level where the houses are burning and collapsing on you.

Melee System:

The melee system has actually improved but still needs a bit more work. You can now do these various melee attacks instead of the same old boring punch to the face. It takes 2 punches to actually get the guy down if you're facing each other, but other awesome moves when his back is facing you. The thing that bothers me is the lag when hitting people.. Really hope this gets fixed in the final version.

Weapons:

I love the new weapons in Uncharted 3, bringing the back the beloved AK-47 and the same old pistol. The guns now have a lot more recoil so it's a bit more challenging for most players. I actually had trouble with it the first 5 games bit you will get used to it after a while. You can now set up classes and customize your guns such as rate of fire, scope, etc. The game has more than 2 assault rifles now which was a gift from a god. The M9 which you unlock at a high level in the beta is my favorite gun, It's very fast and deadly. Naughty Dog however has made the pistol suck so bad that you would need to shoot your whole clip to kill someone. The uzi does make up for it though, lets just hope they fix the damage for the pistol in the real game.

Party/Buddy System:

The party system is just real bad but I just think it's the beta thats causing all of these problems. I have a lot of psn friends and I can't even get more than three in a party. Sometimes one of the users don't even make it into the game which makes it really frustrating to back out and try a few more times. The buddy system however is really good. If you are not in a party, you automatically get assigned a buddy in the game.. you can spawn near him, high five him after a kill getting points, get more rewards, and have your emblem placed around the map if you're doing good.

Boosters/Kill Streaks:

There were boosters in Uncharted 2 aka perks that really weren't addictive as the ones in Uncharted 3. You get two slots and can choose boosters after leveling up and unlocking. However these boosters need to be purchased with the money you earn in game. Once you unlock the one that fits your style and changes the game that you've been playing for hours, you can keep playing to make it better. I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog has to offer in the final game.

I hope you enjoyed this review,
Chaldo

The graphic and everything is okie. But still have some small problem. As in the picture, U can see light of gun fire is not reality.
