Yellow light of death if it never comes back on. $150 fixed from Sony, $30 for a good re-flow(temporary fix) or $75-100 for a good re-ball.

If it comes on for a while:
How long are you able to play it until it shuts off? What model PS3?

You may be getting close to YLOD. I'd back up all of your game saves, if I were you.
If you are out of warranty, you should take it apart and clean it. If in warranty, get a can of air duster and blow it in all the vents you can.
