He reiterated that install packages function works fine in 4.10 but the team who is working on the jailbreak unable to run apps in either 4.00 or 4.10 which they still need to find the exploit for.
KaKaRoTo later advises not to upgrade to the latest PS3 firmware unless it is really needed. 4.00 HEN (Homebrew ENabler) has been announced since November last year.

i'll just jump back into this topic one last time to tell Dishonor this. no offense man, but there's a BIG difference between the words "Mod" and "hack", and there's a lot of idiots out there that use them to describe the same thing. "modding" is changing the code of a game or program to perform an in-game action that normally cannot be done, such as giving oneself all the weapons in the game, flying around using noclip, or making yourself invulnerable using godmode. Modding is changing the code or game settings in it's most basic form. hacking is basically forcing your way into a secure and external computer system or device without permission/authentication, for example, say you want to break into your mom's admin account on her laptop that runs on windows XP, and you have access to a guest account or a normal user, what do you do? you use command prompt to perform the privilege elevation exploit to get system-user access, and change mommy's password. simple enough? i hope this explanation cleared that up, because it ticks me off when people unknowingly flaunt their ignorance.... again, no offence.
