Post: 3.55 CFW help/ 2 ps3's

i have a cech2001a 3.60 firmware

and a cech2001b 3.30 firmware (yes this is correct)

and i'm having problems going from 3.30 to 3.55 with my cruzer fat32 flashdrive

PS3/UPDATE/PS3UPDAT.PUP =how i have the folders and fw

and i have it in the root of my flashdrive with nothing else, why wont it work it stays in the "scan..." screen when i hit update via removable media

any suggestions\how to get in recovery mode

A guy I was talking to yesterday was having a similar problem, no matter what happened he couldn't update to 3.55, so what he did was reformatted his hard drive then did it and then it apparently worked.

I also suggest before formatting if you're not already, try to update to an official firmware first, then to a custom firmware (assuming you're trying to install custom firmware).

if you want to try the recovery way do this

turn on your ps3
then hold the power button untill turns red
let go then hold it again it will make a beep and then wait till you hear
2 beeps one right after another let go and you will boot into recovery


i had this problem once didnt try recovery but i went to 3.50 then formated then went to 3.55

Yeah thanks for the heads up about the

3.55 ofw--->3.55 cfw thing

ill just reformat it then ill put it in recovery mode and lets see how it works out. :y:

yes, but ill have to upload it cause everything i need is in my computer, do you want official to? its geohots, and if you want kmeaw waninkoko i can get it
