[Tutorial] How to manually React PSN Content for 4.21REX

Credit to niwakun of PS3news for posting this, should help some people out on 4.21 REX.

* Assuming you have 4.21RFW installed and REBUG Toolbox installed.

• Run REBUG toolbox, enable REBUG Mode and exit (console will restart)
  
• Create a new dedicated user account on PS3. Then register to PSN.
  
• Download something on PSN that requires activation
  Tip: if US account, download Uncharted 2 DLC (it's free BTW) or if Japan account, download Akiba Strip Dynamic Theme (it's free too)
  
• Now you have act.dat residing on your exdata of your current account home folder
  
• Now go ftp and browse over >> dev_hdd0/home/00000XXX/exdata
  Tip: the XXX is replaced by any number, just browse over the account who had the current exdata folder with act.dat on it
  
• Backup your precious act.dat somewhere it wont lost, you can use this in the future to pirate PSN Stuff *har
  
• Now dump your IDPS, you will need that also. You can download the IDPS dumper .
  
• Now your ready, use the raps file you downloaded over warez sites, convert those files using and using the unique files on your console, the IDPS and act.dat you can now activate PSN/DLC/PS1/PS2/Minis stuff.

Tip: make sure that the name of the rif file is same with the rap file like
RAP: EP4313-NPEB00087_00-TLEVIATHAN000001.rap
RIF: EP4313-NPEB00087_00-TLEVIATHAN000001.rif

Now transfer it on your PS3 via FTP or something feasible to transfer the rif file to exdata, where you get the act.dat earlier.

not 100% sure but you might need to be on 3.55cfw to retrieve IDPS. But its something useful to have anyway.

I wish I would have gotten my PS3 yesterday but now I have to wait til Monday.

Btw, do u recommend the 3.55.3 or the 4.21.1 firmwares?

not 100% sure but you might need to be on 3.55cfw to retrieve IDPS. But its something useful to have anyway.

It's definitely worth the time. I went from 4.30 CFW to this using Rogero's method. I haven't used the 9.99 downgrader pup. Others are saying the 9.99 method is similar to Rogero's. I'll stick with what works. Use Rogero's downgrade method then you can update from 3.55 V3.7 Rogero to 4.21.1 directly from XMB.

if i go onto my main account with some downloaded games on it and i download m from ps store to my 4.21rebug
then is there any chance (and how big?) that my psn-id will get banned?

it wont let me dump my ipds, it says an error has occured

someone on another site said some games arent working on rebug, like NFS
