it has to be cheap and can play PS2 and PS1 backups

matrix infinity, but it will be very hard to find a orignal so you are best off with the clone, modbo.

If a mod chip isn't a must since you have a Fat PS2 you can also use a hard drive and run backups of games off that. I used to do that back in the day using You must login or register to view this content..

It works well and it's a lot faster and easier than a mod chip and burning discs.

I never used a PS2 mod chip, so I can't give you any advice on those unfortunately.

Would HDAdvance also load up PS1 backups, and how much is it to get it fully working with the disc and other items?
