Site: [link removed]

Requirements:
- A PS3 (maybe and xtra one incase u **** up)
- Possibly a soldering tool
- Double sided USB

1. Expose the wires on one side of the USB
2. Open up your PS3 till you see the NAND
3. Connect the non-exposed wire to your PC
4. If possible, connect the wire to a part of the NAND. If not do this:
find which wire that is connected to the NAND, transfers data, or stores
cut a small split in the middle of that wire
connect the exposed USB wire to the middle of that NAND wire

The program will be able to read and write from the NAND.

The program will then receive the files and dump/write it to a folder. Of course, decryption will be harder.

What needs to be done:
- Write a driver so the PC can recognize it is connected to the NAND
- Dump the NAND into a folder on the PC
- Transfer files from the PC to the NAND

Then the things to can maybe do from this
- Put a older firmware on the PS3
- Etc...

seems very nice but you need to know what your doing and i think if any that is going to try it will need a better tut and experience with soldering

So this is a "possible" way to downgrade your ps3. I'm still not trying it just yet!

Well... its quite sloppy but I guess this could be possible... maybe.... probably safer using an external flasher(quite expensive... but less risky...) but if your willing give it a shot. Im not trying this one but if this thread doesn't get closed then ill follow and see how it goes if progress is made ill join in but till then im kinda skeptical about some parts in the process... thanks anyway though.

Hey dude nice post.....just an idea so ok you make the nand flashing cable then you need to know the vital parts of the nand (signed metldr) to solder too (lots of points goodluck)then you can dump your nand/nor..... then thanks to geohot we have the root-keys, so maybe someone can code and sign an alternative loader which prints out the unique console key so we can resign a donor flash-image. Sort of like XeLL for the jtag then you guys can once in for all downgrade

You do realize this isn't even up there, right?

PsYcHoSiS, why does post count matter? Who said this was really JUST FOR downgrading. Who said this was bullshit?
