First thing you need to do is Download these Files.

Install E3 Flasher to the PlayStation3.

Switches (U = UP, D = DOWN)

[D-D-U-U-U-U] <---Change switches to this Position

- Update E3 Flasher -- (Done=8 LEDs turn on at Once) File: update.bin

Press RED button under eSata Cable on TF board.

[D-D-U-D-D-D] <---Change switches to this Position

Press RED button under eSata Cable on TF board.

- Back up NOR flash--Press Start (Done= 8Leds Light, (1By1))

Take Micro SD card and copy the backed up file, Check it aswell.

Save file onto Computer.

Place e3_downgrader.bin into Micro SD

Take the Micro SD card and put it back onto the TF board.

Press Red Button under eSata cable.

[D-D-D-D-D-U] <---Change switches to this Position

Press Red Button under eSata cable.

-- Install e3 Downgrader--Press Start (8Leds Light (1by1)) File: E3_downgrader.bin

- Place bkpps3.bin in Nor Patcher...

-Take files and Place onto Micro SD card (RENAME to bkpps3.bin, if not already)

Press Red button Under Esata Cable.

[D-D-D-D-D-D] <---Change switches to this Position

press Red button under Esata Cable

Press Start (Done=8Leds Light((1by1)

Once Complete, TURN OFF console though the XMB menu.

Remove E3flasher from Playstation and Rebuild it back together.

(WARNING: ONCE you turn on the console, DO NOT TURN IT OFF... you will get ylod and will then have to go into Flash Fun mode.)

Install Rogero_355_downgrader_RSOD.PUP

Once update it complete, Place (toggle_qa.pkg) in the root of your PS3

-Install PKG file Toggle_QA,

Run the Program, If you here 3 Beeps, your Console is QA flagged.

Then, Place Rebug 3.55.4 999 Downgrader into USB (USB: PS3/UPDATE/Put File HERE)

Install that Update, after you install that update.. you can install any update you like.


This is the Tutorial I use everytime and i never Fail.
HOW TO DOWNGRADE USING E3 FLASHER WITHOUT FSM Dongle.

OR once you get a good back up just patch it with auto patcher and put all switches down (D,D,D,D,D,D) it will light up 1by1 this is how i do it and never fail..., thats it no need for e3_downgrade.bin

I tried and skipped the E3_downgrader.bin and once i restarted from XMB to install patched dump... it gave me the ylod.

It worked OMFG!

I don't use the e3_downgrade.bin and I don't end up with the YLOD. What model is you PS3?

i have the e3 flasher limited with no fsm dongle = e3 card reader i dont have it only the e3 flasher i have

now i have a phat ps3 cechk i checked with miniverchck and it showed on ps3 screen i am able to roll back to 2.16 current 2 days ago i was on 4.46 now psn got me updated to 4.50 will this tutorial work on mine please reply thanks

i wanna do this flashing to downgrade, only problem is, i have the YLOD problem, i can eventually get the PS3 running by constantly pressing the power button until it fires up, would this cause a problem? because in the part of the thread, it says "once on, do not turn off" but like i said my ps3 cuts off when trying to boot because of this YLOD problem. But once on it works

im stuck on rogero 3.55 downgrader rsod, ive toggled qa but still cant update to any other fw?

ahhh, After you install the Rogero 3.55 and QA flagged it... you must install the next CFW in Recovery mode it will work for sure

Hoping you can help me out...
So I just got my ps3 connected up to my E3 flasher... Flashed all of the BIOS files (3) just to make sure... They were all GOOD! Then went and patched one if them and then went onto the TF cover board with the SD card. All switches down. Then hit start. Restarted ps3 afterwards and it was fine but I couldn't install any CFW or the 3.55 OFW. So I re ran the patched BIOS file and restarted. It turned off all well and good but it turned on and then acted as if it had the YLOD. How do I fix this?
