I have an idea but not sure if it works out, put the cfw on the usb plug it in the left usb port go ahead click update via storage media at the bottom there should be another option saying save update data on system storage and then click x on that I'm not 100% sure if it updates the firmware too while saving the firmware you could give it a try

Go into the recovery menu, with your controller connected, select system update, then once it starts checking for update unplug controller and plugin a flash drive with the update you are wanting to do, and that's it. I know for a fact that this will work.
