No. I just went from ofw 3.55 to cfw 3.55 using KMEAW.
I was planning to go to DEX straight away but got that error when trying to install 4.81.2 D-Rex from the rebug website.

That's how I've done it, I tried going straight to 4.70.1 D-REX but same error code for some reason :S never bothered figuring it out until I tried REX then it worked.

I'm on 3.55 cfw KMEAW. My next step would be to install rebug right? So I tryed 4.81.2 Dex and it gave me the error.

Try 4.81 REX Rebug if it work's then great!
If it does work do it then convert it to DEX if you don't know how to convert it there are plenty of tutorials on youtube u'll find.
