You have that same note for all codes saying they only work when playing and then applying them with NetCheat or Artemis. Does the game not boot if you modify it in any kind of way? What happens? It might be something easily fixable.
The only time I saw a PS3 game not boot if the decrypted EBOOT.ELF was modified was the disk version of F.E.A.R. 2 because they put in some annoying check that I was too dumb to know how to fix at the time, but I could probably fix that these days.
