Sorry to tell you this mate, but there is currently no way to get out of service mode.
The reason this is because no one has lv2diag files signed as official for use, you'll just have to wait and see if someone gets one working soon

Yes. It could. As long as you do everything right, solder all wires properly, and figure out how to flash it. I, myself, have never used one, but I have been on the scene long enough to know what it is and what it does.
