As of (Feb, 17 2011) Sony’s Play Station Network terms and condition were changed to what some believe it to be unfair, unjust, unlawful and most importantly unacceptable in many ways.

Myself and many others who do not agree to the new terms and conditions that Sony is forcing upon all PlayStation3 users in order to use their online services.

If you are a PS3 user and owner you may not have a modified PS3 unit in anyway other than Sony’s licensed parts (hardware or/and Software)

That includes but is not limited to unauthorized peripherals hardware not sold by a Sony company, such as Bluetooth headsets, hard drives, keyboards and mice, USB drives, HDMI cables, USB cables and many more. You are in the right place.

For those of you who have not been following the ps3 scene for the past six plus months and are wondering why Sony has taken these drastic measures; this comes after a few security hackers around the world were able to hack the PS3 which Sony claimed to be unhackable since the launch of the console in 2006.

The hackers only did so as a result of drastic measures Sony took few months prior when they decided to take away the OtherOS option that the PS3 had and was advertised to have.

This Petition is for everyone who disagrees with what Sony has been doing in order to (as Sony puts it) “protecting our (Sony’s) business and preserving the honest gameplay experiences that you expect and deserve.”

I for one am not happy how, as a customer, are being treated with the new terms and conditions of the use of my PS3, which in turns is impeeding on my personal rights and privacy act.

I do not like the fact that Sony is forcing me to agree to have my personal content on my console spied on by random Sony employees such as personal and private pictures and videos, which can and should only be viewed by those I approve to.

Therefore I will be sending this petition to Sony to show, we will not be quiet anymore, we will speak our minds and they will have to listen. After all we are their customers, and as we all know, "don't bite the hand that feeds you"

Please sign this petition if you would like to send Sony a strong and clear message that you would like your privacy protected and that their new terms for the PS3 are unaceptable.

I ask one thing of you, to please be polite and civilised about it. Let’s try to keep it clean and get as many signatures as possible.

Thank you!

Comments: I disagree with the new end user licence agreement, has sony never heard of the human right and privacy act's.

I agree piracy and downloading games is wrong. but playing your OWN BOUGHT games as backups should be allowed on all consoles and portable devices. this is my opinion to help increase the life time of the device and software. .

Oh no, I assure I am one of the few here who DO "get the picture". Do you even know why I am on 3.15 still? Bottom line is that the TOS have always been harsh and intrusive, these new ones include very little changed, all of you are just banging your pots and pans because they have finally executed what they have told us all they could in the TOS for years, which is monitor what we are doing with the system when we go onto PSN.

Everyone is just freaking out because they can no longer break into PSN and that they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar. I have not had my modded console on PSN at all, and guess what? I did not get one of these warning emails that everyone breaking onto PSN did, take from that what you will.

Also your petition claims that you are afraid of them looking at your pictures and movies and being spied on by random employees? Even if you really DO think they have the resources and manpower to look at that kind of stuff, do you really think they want to find your porn? I'd also like to see just WHERE in the new TOS it says that they can do that. We already know what they are looking at, and its not files on your drives, it IS programs executed.

Lastly, everyone claiming that this is all due to otherOS, don't kid me, I was directly affected by that. Failoverflow is one of the few who actually were about that. All these millions of backup management tools, and PSN obfuscation tools didn't have jack to do with otherOS and that is 98% of what this "scene" is.

It would have been nice to see everyone be "freedom fighters" and standing up for digital rights when otherOS was taken away as that was truly the biggest encroachment on consumers rights as far as Sony and the PS3 is concerned.

Sadly very few people cared until they could no longer illegitimately break onto a network that wasn't theirs without fear that they were actually being watched over. Carry on with your petition, it just carries very little weight now.

I'm going to get hate for saying this but... Hacking is really the unlawful thing and maybe sony shouldnt be this drastic but think about how many games we have ruined the online experience for others take responsibility for your actions.
