That's much too direct of a connection, You would need something seperating the laptop and the xbox. Such as a hub or network switch. then put the lag switch between the laptop and the hub or network switch. So it would look like this.

laptop ---lag switch--- hub ------ xbox

you need something between the switch and the xbox because if its str8 in then xbox detects a break in the cord

you buy them. you can get a cheap hub for ~ $10 and a cheap network switch for ~ $20. I recommend a network switch because if you ever need multiple connections, it allows for them at the same time.

do u no were they sell them or do u have 2 buy them online?

would this also happen with a ps3 instead of xbox?
