Back in 2010 I bought a yellow TI-84 Plus calculator that says "School Property" on it on eBay for like $40 and used brandonw's method to jailbreak my PS3, I'm pretty sure someone stole it from their school or something and sold it lol. Those were the good days.

$170 fully set up with games some mods and other important .pkgs installed

$100 for another fat PS3 and $50 for an E3 flasher..

I paid £99.99 for OFW 3.55 Slim for the latest one I've got, my first one I bought about 3-4 years ago now I paid £130 4.21 Rogero

Luckily I had a jailbreakable Slim, I just spent 5 bucks on some thermal paste and 45 on the e3 nor flasher. Spent about 2 hours doing the jailbreak and then was done. So 50 bucks in all and some time spent learning how to do the process. Gotta admit, I was really proud of myself when I got everything done. I mainly use it for Movian type stuff. I am still shocked by what I learn with this thing, whether it be hardware or software, Im always learning something.
I have JB'd 5 of them for friends and what not. Fun everytime and the few that watched enjoyed watching how its done. lol

This (I'm sure, as I haven't read all of the reply's) will beat most if not anyone... £7.50, each... For 8 consoles.... Replace the blu Ray drive on 2 (40/80gb hdd's) on 3.XX (lower than 3.55) and in 2.65. Then a good old BC (4usb ports, 60gb HDD) running 3.15.... Now the only problem with the 60gb one is that it flickers... So it will need a good old leaded bga reball of the rsx and as I know a mate that's learning.... I get mates rates as well!! XD


Plus the fact that I must have jailbroken at least 100 consoles.... I'm sure it's more but yeah xD

I know a couple people on the market in Leeds and been buying broken ps3's and xbox360 for £5 to £10 as they have YLOD and RRod so have a few to practice on right now, I always modded xbox360 flashing the drives and made an original J-tag 360 ,when i say original i mean as in it didnt need a coolrunner or any other glitch as it was on a low dashboard but it was a xenon so was a pain for dying with red lights cos of gpu getting too hot even with fan mod it was a pain so at the moment have about 14 x xbox360 and 12 ps3 fixd the first two ps3 both phats one has the sd,flash card slots and 4x usb at the front an was on 3.55 now rebug 4.81.2 with toolbox and is cex but this console took some love to get going ive re-flowed the cpu/gpu added new thermal paste which sorted it but the BD drive was jammed and just needed reset and works fine now so yeah its cost me £5 and a bit of work which i enjoy , I do have a E3 flasher but not tested it yet also think it may be a clone it cost me £35 but was late coming so wish refunded the money and still got the item but am worried what probs a clone can make So im pretty new to PS3 but am hoping a place like ngu will help guild me when i run into problems, I never expect to be spoon fed and have modded many things such as cable modems, routers, tv firmware, ODB in cars and so on , Im new here but hope with my knowledge of other things will help me as move into PS3 scene and help others as others help and what i learn will be past on.

Mine was a 160gb Slim 3.55, Ended up costing me $150.
