Setting Up CCAPI

Important Information

CCAPI stands for Control Console API and is a way to establish a connection between your computer and console. This will allow you to modify your console through the use of Real Time Memory Editing applications known as RTM Tools. It is important to understand that CCAPI, although available on both CEX and DEX consoles, may not be compatible with your current Custom Firmware version. The benefit of using CCAPI is that you have the ability to edit your console's memory over WiFi. Below is a table showing the compatible firmware versions that CCAPI may be run on.

Firmware Version CEX DEX
4.21 Yes Yes
4.30 Yes Yes
4.40 Yes Yes
4.41 Yes Yes
4.46 Yes Yes
4.50 Yes Yes
4.53 Yes Yes
4.60 Yes Yes
4.65 Yes Yes
4.66 Yes No
4.70 Yes Yes
4.75 Yes Yes
4.76 Yes Yes
4.78 Yes Yes
4.80 Yes Yes
4.81 Yes Yes
4.82 Yes Yes

Gather Your Materials

To be able to use CCAPI on your console you will need to download the correct CCAPI package collection for your console's current firmware version. In the collection you will find two folders named respectively for the hardware the application is to be installed on. For CCAPI you will be installing a homebrew application onto your console and a Window's application onto your computer. You will find the link to the CCAPI collection below.

Note: The links and information provided regarding CCAPI are of the latest version. However, due to development they may change. Always check to see if your custom firmware is compatible. For those of you who simply wish to update RTM Tools I have provided a collection of CCAPI .DLL's below.

CCAPI 2.80 REV3 - You must login or register to view this content.

CCAPI .DLL's - You must login or register to view this content.

Step 2: Insert your flash drive into your computer and create a folder on the root named "Packages".

Step 3: Open the CcApi_package_2.80_Rev3_dev folder and then open the folder named PS3 inside of it. Copy the package file inside of the PS3 folder to the Packages folder on your flash drive and then safely eject it from your computer.

Step 4: Insert your flash drive into the rightmost USB port on your console.

Step 5: On the XMB navigate to Game -> Package Manager -> Install Package Files -> Package Directory.

Step 6: Install the Enstone CCAPI package.

Step 7: Remove your flash drive from your console.

Installing CCAPI on the Console

Now that you have the homebrew application installed on to your console you need to install CCAPI on it.

Step 1: On the XMB navigate to Game -> Control Console API 2.80 Installer/Uninstaller by Enstone and open the homebrew application.

Step 2: You will be prompted with a message informing you of your detected firmware version and a small summary of its main features. Scroll down to the bottom and select OK to confirm the installation. Another message prompt will inform you that you are about to install Control Console API onto your console and that a reboot will take place immediately after. Select Yes to confirm the installation and then select OK on the next message prompt to reboot your console.

If you see a message prompt in the top right corner of your screen after the console has rebooted then you have successfully installed CCAPI onto your console!

Installing CCAPI on your Computer

In order for your console and computer to be able to communicate between each other you also need to install the CCAPI software onto your computer.

Step 1: Locate the CcApi_package_2.80_Rev3_dev folder on your desktop and open it and then open the folder named PC inside of it. You will find an installer named CCAPI-setupv2.80. Open the installer.

Step 2: You will be greeted with a welcome message. Select the Next button on the bottom.

Step 8: Select the option to Launch ControlConsole API and then select the Finish button on the bottom.

Adding your Console to Console Manager

The final step to setting up the link between your computer and your console is adding your console to Console Manager. This program will save your console's information for you to use at a later time.

Step 1: If you do not have Console Manager open from the previous section then open the program.

Step 2: When the program opens select the File tab on the top left and then select the Add new console option. A dialog box appears asking for you to enter in the console's name and IP address.

Step 3: On the XMB navigate to Settings -> Network Settings -> Settings and Connection Status List. Locate where it says IP Address and write it down.

Step 4: At the Add a new console dialog box enter a name for your console and then enter in the IP address you wrote down earlier and select Okay to confirm and save the settings.

Step 5: You will now see your console's name and IP address listed in the Consoles window. Right click on it and select the Connect option. If it connected to your console you will be given a dialog box stating that it has successfully connected to your console.

Step 6: Click the Refresh button under the Console info category to verify that it can fetch information from your console.

Gather Your Materials

To switch your console from a Retail (CEX) version to a Debug (DEX) version you will need to install two homebrew applications. These applications are called Rebug Toolbox and webMAN MOD. We will be using Rebug Toolbox to change your console's LV2 Kernel and Target Type to DEX as well as change some basic system settings while using webMAN MOD to prevent any errors when signing onto the PlayStation Network. You will find the links to the homebrew applications below.

Rebug Toolbox - You must login or register to view this content. (Scroll down to the bottom)

Good detailed information.
How would i disable syscalls and any other cfw giveaway which may be harmful, when i use sen enabler on dex, all the cfw options disappear and corrupts the cfw.

Which steps do you take to go online? do you also unload webman before/after signing in? it would be very helpful for many viewers to understand which correct steps are needed to be taken in order to ensure that their system is safe.

Personally, for me, I would recommend PSNPatch over SEN Enabler.

Thank you for replying.
Just to confirm, loading a game through webman automatically deletes the history files also at startup right?
And do you unload webman at any point? How long have you been using this method on dex?
Would you use psn patch before or after being done with webman settings and configuration?

To be honest, I used Multiman more to load my games and such. PSNPatch does me just fine. I've used it for around 2 months and never got banned. Then I got banned tears But it did help...
