Post: I enabled FSM on 4.65 D-REX
11-03-2014, 02:04 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi,

I enabled FSM via Rebug Toolbox on 4.65 D-REX.

The PS3 rebooted in FSM and all homebrews gone. I tryed to install Toolbox again = install error.

So i tryed to reinstall 4.65 D-REX via XMB, i plugged in the USB with 4.65 D-REX FW and tryed to update.

The PS3 successful copyed the update to the PS3 and "restarted to install the FW", at the install process the PS3 gives me an error and 1 sec. later a RSOD.

On every restart the PS3 begin to search the copyed Firmware on internal HDD but the same happens FW install error and 1 sec. later RSOD

Im stuck on this process i do not have access to XMB.

I recorded the issue:

That what i tryed:
- Replace a NTFS formatted HDD = the PS3 just shuts off after few seconds
- Execute different Lv2diag.self files = no one works
- Connect with target manager = cant connect

Save Point
Do not install CFW after FSM enabled on 4.65
FSM only works with old FSM FW installation method
To get out of FSM get the 3.55 lv2diag.self to get you out of FSM
Follow the procedure (power + eject) let it do its thing and you should be good

I have two dumps of my PS3 i created it with Rebug Toolbox on 4.46 Rebug (Export Flash to File)
- CEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN
- DEX-FLASH.EID0.NORBIN (Edited to DEX)

If i flash one of my dumps im getting a black screen and the power button does not recognize

afaik, syscon locks storage media (hdd) if in product mode, so it is a nogo doing any upgrades from xmb.

you should know that you can only flash byte-reversed dumps back to nor with e3flasher. run those dumps through flowrebuilder with that option and it should work. though, you should have made a backup of current flash instead of flashing old dump. some per console files change in specific situations. fsm is a flag in eeprom, so it will not be recorded.

I runned my dump through flowrebuilder with (byte reverse a dump) option.

The good thing is my ps3 shows a screen now

The bad thing is its the Red Screen everything same like before

Do you know what i can test now?

so now you are in 4.46? you have to patch the dump with 3.55 downgrade patches with one of those various patchtools and flash it back (don't forget byte-reversed). then do a normal fsm install with lv2diag.self (md5: 099f33a7967f99e91c07e870fd78b3db) and a rogero 3.55 downgrade patched pup (think v3.7). after its install run exit fsm self (md5: 7a20bfdae65eefb47a4425db1b52dcde) and you should be fine.
