Right - The first thing you want to so is download and install "PSN Patch & PSNINJA"
- Before going online, enable the first three options on PSNINJA, then go onto PSN Patch and hold the X until you hear 1 beep.

Then you should be able to go online without any issue - Don't try and access the PSN Store nor don't try and update any games. Even if it asks.
Remember, Never run any PKG file while being online. Remain signed out until you've made sure you've done all of the above.

There is no way to prevent a ban. You can make your risk smaller by using homebrew such as PSNinja and PSNPatch. Make sure to use Private CIDs and not to share it with anyone.
