I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO FULLY RESTORE MY PS3....

Try going into recovery mode & restore file sysem from there option 3



If the amber hdd light is pretty much permanently on then it might mean your hard drive has bad sectors.

If you got a sata dock or something connect PS3 hdd to pc & use Hard disk sentinel to test the hdd.

You can find a cracked version of it if you look around
