i have an hauppauge hdpvr 2 gaming edition and mine is always 720 p using the components given in the box but i made a setup using a hdmi splitter to record on 1080p on ps3 if you want me to tell you how i did it just pm me on skype

What is your display settings on? It should not be on HDMI.

I think you can turn this HDCP setting off in debug settings of certain cfw's?
