With the PS3 turned off hold the power down till it turns off again then let your finger off then turn it back on. If still no screen then I can assist further but you'll need another hard drive that fits

like bmob said, go into recovery mode if nothing pops up replace the hard drive with a sata 2.5, if it pops up then try restoring to default settings. if that doesnt work, re download the update youre on.

Sometimes this happens to my ps3 for some reason. Usually I'll just turn it off by holding the power button or unplugging the power cable and replugging it in then turning the ps3 back on
