It said update via external drive and hit start and select at the same time i got it to update to 3.55 and now when i tey to boot the screen will be black for a second them will go too no signal but when i take the hard drive out it says cannot find correct file system storage and doeant switch to no signal.

Are you running on a CFW, or is this happening on an OFW?

Power on system, hold on to power button until you hear one beep and until system shuts off, this will do a video reset. See if this works.
