Anyone here have any ideas on how to switch any of these (saves and their accompanying profile save) over to something US region compatible (BLUS30853 disc copy) without corrupting them? I've tried and tried again with each of the methods listed in this thread but it seems like every time I give it a shot I've ended up with a pair of corrupted saves.

Hi, I did not change region but my saves corrupted everytime I resigned them, too. I found a very good advice. You have to edit SFO. Here, I quoted the original post. This helped me fixing it:
