(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); This is a save set and guide on how you can get the Dynasty Warriors 8 Xtreme Legends Platinum in about 2 hours. These are my own personal saves. I grinded the game out the old fashioned way when I couldn't find a platinum save for this game anywhere. You will need some skill but not too much. Can't just sit back and just watch all the trophies pop for this one but I can turn a 100-150 hour platinum into a 2 hour one for you. Also there is cross play so if you have a Vita &/or PS4 you can resign these saves to your PS3, upload them on your cloud then download them to your PS4 &/or Vita. Long story short you could have 3 platinum trophies in about 6 hours of "work" I completed the game on my PS4 then used my own saves to get it on my PS3. You can deviate from my directions and pop trophies at different times or go down whatever road you want. Below are the exact steps I followed to get my 2nd platinum from my saves. Lastly I reference something called a "Soft Reset" a few times. This is a reset you can do anywhere in game to get you quickly to the main menu with no load time. To do a soft reset hit these buttons simultaneously Start, Select, L1, L2, R1, R2

Once the game and save are loaded, from the main menu go to the gallery
View weapons - Pop "Musou Collector" (Silver)
View Wallpapers - Pop "Wallpaper Compiler" (Bronze)
View Events - Pop "Event Aficionado" (Bronze)
View Movies - Pop "Movie Maven" (Bronze)

Hit Circle until you are at the main menu, choose AMBITION MODE and select CONTINUE. it should bring you to an interim save and the trophy "Expedient Leader" (Bronze) should auto pop. If for some reason it doesn't, choose "Next Battle" and choose a Skirmish (Bottom left choice, will have green title). Once in battle run straight to the end general as fast as you can and kill him (easy setting so one swing from your horse should do it). After the fight you need your time remaining to still be above 14 minutes. If you've gotten this far and no trophy, use a soft reset and try again (don't save or let it auto save). Once you've obtained this trophy choose the option to return to the main camp.

Once in the main camp press Start>Equip Skills then wait for the following trophies to pop
"War Trident Expert" (Bronze)
"Flame Bow Expert" (Bronze)
"Woven Cloth Expert" (Bronze)
"Art of War Scroll Expert" (Bronze)
"Crossed Pike Expert" (Bronze)

Now exit from this menu and walk over to the GUARD. Talk to him and choose Ultimate Difficulty. Next chose to do a "Skirmish" (Bottom left choice, will have green title). This is a very short and easy battle. You'll start on your horse. Stay on your horse and run to the end general while spamming square the whole way. Your goal here is to win fast without getting hit so keep your horse moving and spam square. Once you kill the end general fast without getting hit (very easy even on hardest setting) choose the option to return to the main camp after the battle. You'll pop the following trophies in the process:
"Ultimate Warrior" (Gold)
"Victory Call" (Silver)
"Golden Dream" (Silver)
"Carnage" (Silver)
"Seasoned Veteran" (Silver)
"Famous Commander" (Silver)
"New Friends" (Bronze)
"Lightning Speed" (Bronze)
"Matchless Warrior" (Bronze)

Now talk to the MINISTER and enter the "Final Battle" choose any difficulty. Once in battle pause the game and select "Command Bodyguards" Choose one of your bodyguard's and select the bottom option for them (has a small gear icon) and assign them to complete that skill while you're clearing the board. During the battle you'll pop:
"First Skill" (Bronze)
"Skill Specialist" (Bronze)
"Total Unifier" (Gold) this will pop after the battle

When back at camp talk to the BLACKSMITH. choose "Weapon fusion", select 2 weapons from the inventory to fuse. Now choose whatever upgrade you want and press start to execute the fusion. The trophy
"First Fusion" (Bronze) will pop

Press circle to back out until you are back at the main camp. Press Start>Officer Info>Bodyguard Settings>Strenghten Bodyguards Choose a bodyguard to upgrade and one to part with then execute the upgrade. The trophy
"First Fortification" (Bronze) will pop

Now talk to the MINISTER again and choose to fight in any province (They are all at 100% so it doesn't matter which one). Difficulty doesn't matter but I suggest the easiest setting to simplify things. Also before entering battle there will be a grid of units under your command. Fill the grid completely with any officers you want. Make sure there are zero vacancies before entering battle. In this battle you will need to focus on clearing the board while keeping all your units alive, if you lose even one guy the Battle Pro trophy won't pop so keep an eye on them and protect them (May take some running back and forth but don't get lazy or you'll waste time in the end). Save the end boss for last, if you kill him too soon the Subjugation trophies won't all pop. When looking at the map you'll see blue and red flags. Those are bases and you need to take over the red flags and turn them blue. Once you have cleared the map, finish off the end general and you'll pop:
"Subjugator" (Silver)
"Total Subjugation" (Bronze)
"Total Victory" (Bronze)
"Battle Pro" (Bronze)

Use the soft reset and from the main menu enter FREE MODE, I did my trophy testing offline so suggest doing the same to ensure repeatability. Choose any battle and play on ultimate difficulty. For your officer choose LuBu or Zhang Liao as I have them maxed out. The generals hit hard here so use interim saves as you go through the board if you need them. With the modded weapons I have equipped your officer will charge life when hitting enemies so it's easy to recover health if you get low. Each board has 3 "Stars" or feats as the game calls them. Choose a board with 2 easy ones so you can achieve those feats during the board. A board with 100 horseback kills and a lame bodyguard task are ideal. Find what works best for your style though. The focus here is to clear the board again while saving the end boss for last. Kill every enemy you can until you hit 1000 KO's. Most boards have a spot where the enemy's continue to spawn small groups of troops no matter what so if you clear the board and aren't quite at 1000 yet just camp at one of those spots and keep picking off troops until you hit 1000. Once you hit 1000 finish off the board and if you followed my instructios right you will pop:
"Ultimate Rating" (Gold)
"Goal Getter" (Silver)
"Highest Rating" (Bronze)
"Mighty Warrior" (Bronze)

Use the soft reset and from the main menu choose STORY MODE>LUBU>SELECT STAGE, Play the last board on the far right lower path "Recapture of Chang'an" on beginner difficulty. Clear and win the battle. It's kind of a longer one but just keep moving and following the battle messages. After the end scene and credits you'll pop
"Story Buff" (Bronze) - This will probably pop early in the battle
"Crossroads" (Silver)
"War God" (Silver)

Next you will need to load this save You must login or register to view this content.. It is just one battle in from the save I imported from DW8. From the main menu chose AMBITION MODE>CONTINUE. Once in the camp go talk to the minister. Choose any of the battles that haven't been cleared yet. There are two ways you can go about this.

1. Choose Ultimate difficulty. Advantage is that you only fight one battle. Disadvantage is that the enemies are harder. You need to complete this level in the same manner as the battle above where the "Subjugator" trophy is earned. Turn all the bases blue and kill all enemies before finishing off the final general. Do this and you'll get a 100% Subjagation of the territory in one battle.

2. Choose Hard difficulty. Advantage is that the enemies are easier. Disadvantage is it will take you two fights to gain 100% Subjugation of the territory.You need to complete this level twice in the same manner as the battle above where the "Subjugator" trophy is earned. Turn all the bases blue and kill all enemies before finishing off the final general. Do this correctly twice and you'll get a 100% Subjagation of the territory in one battle.

When either option 1 or 2 is completed correctly you'll pop the trophy:
"Xtreme Speed" (Silver)

At this point you should be around 90% trophy completion. There are 7 trophies you'll have to earn legit and they take mediocre skill. I will give some pointers based on my experience to hopefully simplify them for you. I've platinumed this on my PS3 and PS4 so have the science down pretty good.


Attack Ace (Bronze) - This can be obtained by killing generals with your "EX Attack". They EX attack can only be performed by a your general if he/she is equipped with their EX weapon. I used LuBu to clear most of the challenges and his EX Weapon is the Halberd. If you also use LuBu I would make both of his weapons Halberds with a different affinity than the the other. You can get this trophy easy when going for the Arena Master trophy. The early generals are weak and spawn slow. Kill two generals each with a different EX Attack. To find the button sequences needed for an EX Attack with your general press pause and look at the officer info screen.


Last are the challenges. A couple of these are reasonably hard but can be done fairly easily if going about it right. I recommend deleting or backing up all your DW8XL saves and starting fresh for these. To get them you need to get first even though both saves have my high scores saved in them the trophies won't auto pop. Only way to get the trophies is to get 1st place legit which is why I recommend a fresh save because you will be up against the default high scores. Also character level doesn't matter, the game defaults all generals to level 30 for the challenges. Can't bring a jacked up character in, it's completely linearized which is why they are kind of hard.

Rampage Master (Bronze) - I used LuBu for this one. The goal is to KO enemies FAST. When you start out the outer ring of the board has enemies running clockwise. They don't even fight and just run in a large circle like morons. Run against their flow and kill them. They literally run to you. As you fight a few generals show up. Kill them fast. I recommend using weapon switches (done by pressing R1), it momentarily ups your attack speed and power. Also if you hit a general with a weapon switch it will stun them even if they're blocking. Then just run in and waste them. Once you've cleared some troops and the generals LuBu spawns and will charge you. I also use the weapon switch on him to stun him and use the upped attack to lay waste to him in a hurry. Once he is killed a large number of troops spawn in the inner circle and they take a beating to kill. I like to use my Musou rages here, this can be activated by pressing R3 then hold in circle. Your character will start striding around doing a huge damage to enemies. When you beat LuBu it generates a handful of Musou cups in the inner circle. During your musou rage try to steer into them to prolong the attack. Once you've cleared the middle go back to the outer ring and repeat all these steps above. You'll do so 4-5 times before time runs out. The key is to kill everything fast (and not die of course). The generals and LuBu can be tough and if you waste too much time on them you'll run out of time to mop up easy kills on the mindless troops at the end.

Bridge Melee Master (Bronze) - I used Xiahou Dun on this one. Make sure both weapons are his EX Weapon. In this board I run up to the highest ground and spam the weapon switch (R1). Literally the whole time. It will knock troops, generals and LuBu off the edge with ease. I've read of people using Xiahou Dun's EX Attack Square, Square, spam Triangle and letting his fire ball blast people over the edge. It also works but takes button timing and you can get back attacked by the crappiest of troop to break your chain and leave you open to attack. Spamming R1 can't get any easier so I'd recommend that method. Either way Xiahou Dun is the guy to go with on this challenge.

Speed Run Master (Bronze) - Easiest of the challenges. Use the weapon switch here to cruise through the board. It will give you increased dashes of speed and since it ups your attack you can waste the generals guarding the doors with ease. I was able to get through both times in around 4:30. You need to beat 6:00 for first place. I did those times getting knocked on my back 5-6 times. This one you should be able to get on your first try hands down.

Arena Master (Bronze) - This one was the hardest for me. I recommend LuBu here for his great move set, weapon switch and high attack power. Use the R1 on generals to hit them when doing weapon switches. It will stun them even if they're blocking. Then pummel them with the increased attack from the weapon switch. This will get you through the first waves with ease. The key is to watch your health. You don't get any back and there are no drops so don't take a beating and by all means stay away from the computer's Musou attacks. They are sneaky dirty with them especially later in the challenge. I recommend playing with volume on here because you'll hear the sound when a Musou attack is initiated and that leaves you a small amount of time to get out of their blast radius. Later in the challenge there will be 3 generals spawning at a time and they're smarter than the early generals. They will divide and attempt to back attack you so watch out. If your health gets in the red it actually works out well for you (unless it happens too early). Your Musou meter will charge itself when your health is in the red. So just run in wide circles letting the computer follow. once your Musou meter is charged run close to the computer and hit "X" to jump and while in the air hit Circle. LuBu will do an aerial Musou that is rarely if ever blocked so you'll get a good amount of damage to all generals. Keep repeating this until you get 1st.

Inferno Master (Bronze) - Super easy. Probably should get this on the first run too. Much like the speed run but you have to clear the board. Use weapon switches and follow a direct path (no room for wrong turns or oopsies). You need to kill EVERY enemy. Watch the corners of rooms/areas for archers. They like to hide out and they don't give chase. Before leaving an area I would toggle R2 which will give you a zoomed map. If that is cleared of red I toggled back to the large map and moved to the next area. Rinse and repeat.

Martial Arts Master (Silver) - This will auto pop when you've completed the 5 challenges

Do you have a save where everybody's 6th and 5th weapons are in stock as opposed to just being viewable in the Gallery?

Great saves however it doesn't pop Total Unifier since all stages are already complete. You have to reset them and get 100 percent in all stages over again...
