i have had one since release on 23rd march 2007 and i have had no problems, unlucky or maybe it is the vertical problem, i wouldnt think you are standing it on the end with the fan, mine gets very hot. i'd just try horizontal, none of my friends have had problems either

I dont vaccum mine out i use low pressure compressed air and blow it out.

Yeah something can go wrong when vaccuming the PS3. So just dust it off with a towel or something every now and then

Thats very bad luck that mate, fourth time lucky hopefully. I think i feel dead lucky really knowing that mines still perfectly fine since day one.. got it near enough as soon as it came out.. 60GB and all .. Nothing wrong !

Top it off i've heard another two consoles dying today but both x box consoles, ring of death.. which also relieves me its a ps3 console i own. This seems to be happening more and more, hear more problems with that console.. fingers crossed for everyone
