If I am actually playing, I prefer it on.

It it's spending most of the time on my desk because I'm coding or searching offsets, then I turn it off because it will find it's way crashing onto my floor Sal

I've always played it with off it feels like an extra form of stress when you're playing that doesn't motivate me in game. You're under attack, the screen is already red and you have damage indicators I don't need my controller to remind me how bad I'm doing lol.

Plus I think it helps extend the battery life so I don't have to charge it as much. On the other hand it might be trauma from using the n64 rumble pack and constantly changing out batteries...

I like it on just adds that feeling to it if you know what I mean

Yes & no, sometimes it is interesting to turn it off and see how you play.

I have had it OFF since MW2. The only vibration I use or like is the haptic feedback in the XB1 controller triggers for racing games.

To have vibration on adds to that "feeling"? I think I know "what you mean", nudge nudge wink wink.

Yep I'm feeling silly today. :P
