(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So, just under six years after the PlayStation 3 was released in November 2006, Sony stopped production of the PS2 around December 2012.

Do you think Sony is planning to stop producing games and supporting the PlayStation 3 anytime soon? ...I don't think so.

Some are saying PS3 will officially be dead by Winter 2016 but I doubt that. The console still has life inside it and still seems to be going strong. I find myself playing my PS3 more than the PS4, anybody else?

The following 2 users say thank you to br0wniiez for this useful post:

PS3 is still a good console and there's still more users on PS3 than on PS4 so my guess is maybe around 2020 or when they come up with a third model of the PS4 (2nd model coming out later this year with 1TB).

I don't think it's gonna end anytime soon , atleast another 2 years . Nothing is gonna change until ps4 is cheAp enough for everyone to buy & ps4 gets a few more consistent hit games. Not enough variety

I don't see it right now. I mean not everyone has fully upgraded to a new console yet. Those consoles are still just beginning to launch good AAA titles. I see the Ps3 lasting at least another 2 to 3 years.

I'd give it till 2017 at least.

i think that what we have to remember is that the PS3 is not going to handle most of the new games now and as more people are buying PS4 the PS3 will start to die out, the modders on PS3 are mad. The ps3 has been a great console we just have to release its coming to the end
