New people that dont have any old save of them backed up cant even register their profile atm
I've already updated - couldn't be arsed waiting around and had some DLC I wanted to download.

To add a little bit more detail: you can now work on your own saves, 5.00 and below, but you still cannot resign 5.00 saves until they release a client update (which is supposedly coming at the end of the week).
