(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hello NextGenUpdate, today PS4 Developer You must login or register to view this content. has fully decrypted a Playstation Network game called "P.T Silent Hills". For those who don't know what P.T Silent Hills is, you can check the information on that You must login or register to view this content., or if you'd like to see gameplay towards that. You'll see on the video that you're about to see down below!

In addition to it being decrypted. This means something big incoming from a small package Winky Winky. Well first off, you can load the game (P.T Silent Hills) through your APP_HOME(data) similar like they did with Minecraft, but in a decrypted format. For the moment, this only works on TestKits and DevKits. Imagine if we could decrypt more game? It's possible.

For those who are wondering, what the hell is APP_HOME(data)? This is quite old, and you could've seen this on the Playstation 3 Console. To keep it basic this means the inter-connectivity between the PS4 Console and the Developer's PC.

A twitter user named You must login or register to view this content. asked You must login or register to view this content. why we couldn't have done this through retail systems besides TestKits since we have the "dec ebot". Well, @You must login or register to view this content., another twitter user which helped You must login or register to view this content. with testing replied by telling You must login or register to view this content. that APP_HOME(data) is absent on a retail console. So meaning it couldn't happen!

You must login or register to view this content.

Zecoxao also shared the torrent for us, incase someone needed it to figure out how to run it on retails. I would share it, but NextGenUpdate doesn't allow Warez on our site. If you'd want it, you can find it on the internet by searching it up, or by going to You must login or register to view this content..

Following from the decryption topic, Zecoxao also discussed a few more things with twitter users. This was done on a 1.76 TestKit PS4. This had nothing to with a .RIF File since it didn't have one, but it did require ACT.DAT and idps.binding

.RIF File: When you pay for and download anything from PSN, a RIF file will appear in your exdata folder. This file contains the following information:

  • Contend-ID
  • Date and Time of Purchase
  • Expiration (such as in the KZ3 MP Beta)
  • PSN User Information

ACT.DAT: An activation file for a Sony Playstation' console, based on an account email and password, the devices IDPS, the platform and activation type. The following it contains:

  • PSN User
  • PSN User 'Tag'
  • PSN User Information (some kind of authentication details)

IDPS.Binding: The IDPS is a 16 byte value that contains console specific information. Exactly what information this stores is not completely known. Attaching the word binding basically stating "Holding/Binding the Console Information".

[These definitions were taken from the PS3Wiki and You must login or register to view this content., don't know if they change for the PS4 Console.]

You can already mod trophies you turd Kappa Cool Troll.

They just haven't released any tools, nor information on how to do it. Hopefully in the incoming future their will be.

Not trophies directly from their files, the only "trophy mods" you can do currently is just by executing in game functions which in turn unlock the trophies. Maybe also the possibility of unlocking trophies through reversing libraries to find functions which unlock the trophies but even still you have to load each game then execute your script each time.

You do that, but not force install trp Sal That being said, I'm wondering if PS4 has ability for trophy data syncs like vita did.

Guys, also for further information on this topic. This doesn't just work for 1.76. This works for also the following firmwares: 2.00, 3.50, 4.05, etc

Before the latest Vita fw update, people could do a game legit on a blank account, extract the trophy data for that game, and would be able to sync it to any account, essentially making it a non-editable legit form of trophy folder hacking. I presume the same can be done on PS4, but nobody has yet to try.
