(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); A couple of days ago, PS4 Developer eXtreme had released and showcased his OMSK.pkg release that is the only .pkg that actually runs on a Retail 1.76 Console. He annotated through the OMSK Application explaining the files, and how it was ran through Sandbox. Hopefully we see some more .pkgs soon by more developers, and wait for some homebrews to come through don't you think? Let's get straight into his thread over this release he has shared to the community!

To translate eXtreme's Post from German to English:

After installing a .pkg file, certain folders and files are created on the hard disk of the PS4.
When you run an installed application, the content is loaded into the sandbox. The complete content of the OMSK app was read to show an overview of the files of an application.

You must login or register to view this content.

After the installation, folders with the following files are created:

    System_data / priv / appmeta / NPXS29005 / ext_info.dat
System_data / priv / appmeta / NPXS29005 / param.sfo
User / app / NPXS29005 / app.pbm
User / app / NPXS29005 / app.pkg
User / appmeta / NPXS29005 / icon0.png
User / appmeta / NPXS29005 / pic0.dds
User / appmeta / NPXS29005 / pic0.png
User / appmeta / NPXS29005 / pic1.dds
User / appmeta / NPXS29005 / pic1.png
User / appmeta / NPXS29005 / pronunciation.xml
User / license / freeIV0001-NPXS29005_00.rif

(Info: the .rif file contains the permission to start the application)

After launching the application, the following files are loaded into the sandbox:

    Mnt / sandbox / pfsmnt / NPXS29005-app0 / config.cfg
Mnt / sandbox / pfsmnt / NPXS29005-app0 / eboot.bin
Mnt / sandbox / pfsmnt / NPXS29005-app0 / sce_discmap.plt
Mnt / sandbox / pfsmnt / NPXS29005-app0 / prx / libSceSecure.prx
Mnt / sandbox / pfsmnt / NPXS29005-app0 / sce_module / libc.prx
Mnt / sandbox / pfsmnt / NPXS29005-app0 / sce_module / libSceFios2.prx
Mnt / sandbox / pfsmnt / NPXS29005-app0 / sce_sys / about / right.sprx
Mnt / sandbox / pfsmnt / NPXS29005-app0-nest / pfs_image.dat

(Info: the .dat file contains the files that are loaded into the folder NPXS29005-app0)

The OMSK app is the only known PKG which runs on 1.76 Retail. The app was read with PS4FileNinja and the content of the .dat file was unpacked with ArchiveExplorer.

For anyone wondering you can download this pkg on your ps4 by turning on IDU Mode and it installs as soon your PS4 restarts,
And to get out of IDU mode you need to do the key combo so you can enter staff mode then run webkit and turn off IDU Mode
never had time to mess around with the staff mode seems like there could be some usefull stuff in there

FYI
if you have the permanent web browser patch enabled it will get disabled when you enter IDU mode and you will need to go threw User's Guide to get webkit going to disable IDU mode

And switching IDU mode on n off can result in a error with the ps4 and u might need to reinstall the FW so i wouldnt do this unless u know what your doing

Syncing requires being able to go online.

IDU mode is in System in Debug settings after enabling FTP + Debug Settings
and to enable staff mode on PS4 after IDU mode is done installing you hold R1 + R2 + L1 + L2 + Dpad Up + Options

but last time i was in it i had to reinstall my firmware and took 5 trys to get debug settings to work instead of just freeze ps4 maybe thats just the testkit tho
Retail did fine first time i loaded it haven't try'd since
