It depends where your router is located. Wired is always more reliable.

There was some codes/commands you could input into a text file then open it to increase your internet speed, but I honestly don't know if it actually helps. Overall, only thing you could rely is a wired connection KAT-45 Lan

It's literally no more than 15 feet away and i got a brand new modem in July. Just recently I've been getting these ping spikes, only in black ops. Before I had the new modem, I had those ping spikes all the time and activision support barely helped me

i would recommend getting the apple airport extreme router. yeah its pretty pricey at $200 but it works really well and has even boosted my internet speed up by 10mbps i pay for 50 down and get around 60-63 down

It has nothing to do with how far away your router is or what type of router you use...simply put.. the wifi technology built into most house hold routers is limited
