Was this after a recent PSN update or change in your local network?
Does it throw any error codes that could be helpful in troubleshooting? 4.50 apparently has issues for some people connecting wirelessly. Sounds like you may be effected by the recent proxy issue.

Yeah, it was rare if you got hit by the ban hammer, but luckily all the folks got their accounts resolved, and the issue was patched within a week.
